Lucas Raymond

Lucas now has 3 pts less than God King Stutzle in 2 more games. It would be hilarious if he finished the season ahead of him. Sens fans heads would explode.

Raymond is already having a better season really.

Raymond averages 0.29 goals per game, and 0.32 primary assists per game. Stutzle averages 0.25 goals per game and 0.26 primary assists per game. So Raymonds primary points per game is good for 50 points and 24 goals. Stutzle is on pace for 42 primary points and 20.5 goals over 82 games. The small advantage Stutzle has in points is literally only because of secondary assists.

Now secondary assists shouldnt just be thrown in the garbage obviously, but considering that Stutzle plays more than 3.5 minutes more than Raymond per game including an extra 40 seconds of that on the PP... Raymonds pretty big advantage in primary production is pretty damn impressive.

He gets more PP time, and pushing an extra 4 minutes per game, and all Stutzle can manage is a few extra secondary assists compared to Raymonds much better primary production

Raymond has been pretty good at 2nd legs of back-to-backs.

Perhaps, but that fan base has some of the more intense coping mechanisms I have ever seen. They can reason away just about anything

RED WINGS ERUPT FOR EIGHT GOALS IN BALANCED-SCORING EFFORT
Lucas Raymond
(1-2—3) and Patrick Kane (0-2—2) were two of seven Red Wings players with multiple points as Detroit scored eight goals in a game for the first time since Nov. 15, 2017. A sixth straight victory, the longest active streak in the League (tied w/ NSH), helped the Red Wings (33-20-6, 72 points) create some separation from the Lightning (32-24-5, 69 points) for the first Wild Card spot and moved the club within two points of the Maple Leafs (33-17-8, 74 points) for third in the Atlantic Division.

* Raymond (17-34—51) joined Dylan Larkin and Alex DeBrincat as Detroit’s third 50-point scorer in 2023-24 (59 GP) – the first campaign the franchise has featured at least three such players prior to the team’s 60th game of a season since 2008-09 (Pavel Datsyuk, Marian Hossa & Henrik Zetterberg).

* Tuesday also marked the ninth time the 21-year-old has potted a three-point game for the Red Wings in his career. He tied Alex Delvecchio and Dale McCourt for the fifth most by a player age 21 or younger in franchise history; Steve Yzerman (27), Marcel Dionne (16), Gordie Howe (14) and Sergei Fedorov (12) top the list.

If Patrick Kane died, sure

Raymond is a stud and drives more offense than anyone else on this team IMO, at least over the past couple of months. Might be our best player in a year or two.
The best passer on the team.
Maybe the best passer on the team.

Raymond along with Lyon has been one of the best best players in our recent run.

Kane on the other hand, didn't fit with the team until last 3 games, when he, or the team, or Lalonde figured out how to play well together.
I was by far and large the biggest critic of his game on this board.

PS. If you want to discuss Kane, we can do so in kane's thread. Let's keep this one for Raymond.
