not likely. The kings are corsi darlings and outshoot their opponents almost every night.
I am going to go the opposite and say LA outshoots Montreal by at least 10 shots but losses by 2+ goals.

They may be Corsi darlings but if they watched film of some of our recent outings they'd know a stiff forecheck hems us in more often than not.

Joel Hanley probably didn't think he would play in the NHL, much less in two different seasons and this time, he's earned it, we're not crippled by injuries.

I expect a point from him tonight.

Have no idea how you are building a kid's confident for playing badly for 1 game IN A ROW....A couple of guys like Lehkonen was having, if he would not have been injured, he would have sat out. Not as a punishment, as a break, go look what's going on, calm down, regroup and come back.

Pateryn's not playing is...you are playing badly for 1 game, you sit. And the funny part is that if we lead, just watch how many minutes Hanley will get and just how much icetime will that mean for the rest of the 5 guys. It's extra icetime for them tonight.

On the other hand, Hanley is playing well in the A and deserves some time in Montreal.

4 points in 10 games and a +5. Developing more than 1 Dman is not a bad thing.

The way I see it, a forward has a lot less impact on a game than a defenseman. When you have a guy playing 15-17 mins like Pateryn has been, you can't afford for him to make dumb turnovers like he did last game. Those mistakes can be the difference between losing and winning.

But coming back from this, will it make him play better? Or more hesitant in order to not sit again?

This is true. MT still played Weber over 25 minutes in the 10-0 loss to Columbus for crying out loud. :dunno: I swear MT doesn't even know whats going on during games half the time.

I think the Habs are going to be hustling tonight. Especially guys like Byron, Andrighetto, Danault, Carr and Hanley who will be wanting to make an impression in their new positions on the team. Feeling optimistic.

I don't really like Pateryn's scratching due to the downside being signifincantly bigger than the upside.

I agree with you in principle but at this point Pateryn has to know better if he's supposed to be this stay-at-home defenseman. The dude is 26 years old, he shouldn't be making brutal mistakes like that with the amount of experience he has. We'll see how he responds when he returns in the line-up.

Ask the guy fighting in Afghanistan right now what he thinks about removing the anthem.......then we can completely forget that there are people fighting overseas for our way of living.

Keep the anthem, honour our soldiers, it's 3min of our lives!!

Sorry what does honoring soldiers have to do with a hockey game? Why dont we sing the anthem at work every morning too...or at church...or at stores at random times during the day. Its only 3 minutes of our lives!

Complete straw man.
