In what universe does Stoll equal a second?
A universe where the point of hockey is to shoot high and wide.
In what universe does Stoll equal a second?
lol wut?
I honestly don't think Stoll, Clifford, and Greene are worth 2nd rounders.
Might want to take your expectations down a notch or two.
A universe where the point of hockey is to shoot high and wide.
and this
Philadelphia traded D Andrej Meszaros to Boston for Boston's 3rd-round pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
which one would be more enticing for teams...
Meszaros or Matt Greene and his experience?
If only DL had the stones to move Greene after signing him to a extension, because he's gonna be here for a loooong time.THREE MORE YEARS!
oh ok, i thought trade deadline deals were to gear up for the playoffs..
no team would pay a heavy price to land MVP Justin Williams???
remember what Matt Moulson, or Ray Whitney fetched??
Bryzgalov fetched a 4th
Penner fetched a 4th
LAST YEAR
STOLL fetching a 2nd is me being insane?
Pitt/Bostons third round picks are basically fourth rounders. Any pick you get from a true contender is going to be at the end of the round.
There is a huge difference from a fourth round pick, and a second round pick.
He had the stones to move Johnson after basically calling him a part of the core.
there's a huge difference between Penner and Stoll IMO
You won't be getting 2nd rounders for guys like Stoll.
Williams is about the only guy that would fetch a second rounder, and it would be a late second from a team like Pitt.
Would be something like 2nd rounder+Robert Bortuzzo.
you're right and all i said is for teams wanting that extra push to make the playoffs...will give us low 1st rounders and 2nd rounders which is completely reasonable to expect that veterans that won championships such as Williams, Stoll, Regehr, and Greene would get good returns
giving up a 1st rd pick in the 20th to 30th overall + prospect is really not a heavy price for a guy that will win you some OT games in the playoffs
ok, ok ...maybe a bunch of you guys haven't been watching trade deadline deals
and honestly sometimes i forget the price teams pay
but Douglas Murray was traded in 2013 for Pittsburgh's 2nd rd pick in 2013 AND 2nd rd pick in 2014
i mean, come on..how can you guys ignore this? and how can you say Matt Greene is worth less than Douglas freakin' Murray!
A faceoff specialist who has win two cups , be a leader in the room, is dating Erin Andrews and on am expiring contract. He is worth a second and a mid level prospect.

Montreal could use a guy like Stoll.
Not sure if serious....
Stoll's problem is that the purpose of hockey is to put a puck into a net and the game is played outside of a locker room.
Actually Stoll has just a few flaws like skating, shooting, passing, vision, stick handling, scoring, and hockey sense.
But beside that he is a dang fine hockey player.
No team will offer anything for him because he is one of a little elite group of players who actually make their team mates worse.
He would be an Super Star player at Murray-Sutter hockey.
You know where they remove the goals.
A game where just the little things count. And if one team is awesome in doing the little things right it's the Kings
