would/should LA be sellers or buyers though?

it's a tough decision, and not an easy one to admit... but it would really be wise to sell and retool

we've got so many players that can fetch interesting returns

williams
stoll
regehr
greene
richards
king
clifford
nolan

What would you return?

Well the trial date is the same date as the trade deadline. Even if he's found not guilty, Lombardi said it himself that he doesn't even know what the NHL does after this. They may suspend him even longer.

The NHLPA will fight that without blinking an eye. You can't suspend a player that is found not guilty for a crime. Simple as that. There would be no reason to suspend him if he was found not guilty in a court of law.

welp.

Just came in to see how many people were gonna blame this one on Quick. If only he'd just make that big save..you know? :sarcasm:

Just finished watching the game, impressive display of standing around with your thumb up your ass while pointing at the guy about to score the GWG by Williams. Dude went on permanent vacation at Christmas. That being said, you don't win any games scoring zero goals. Pretty sure Andreoff had more shots than Kopitar. Pathetic.

I'd call this team hot garbage, but that's an insult to hot garbage.

I haven't seen any blame on Quick at all. Quick, Nolan & Clifford were the only ones to show up tonight. Yet, another road game from the top players, minus Quick, that didn't show up. It's like your most hated song that is on permanent repeat. That's the Kings road game story this year.

Quick was great tonight, kept the Kings in the game in the first/second period.

Three strong games in a row for Quick. Too bad the Roster(this season) is not a playoff roster so far.

More of an inside joke on my part. When I parked to go to class, Quick had already made saves on 3 scoring chances in a relatively short period of time and I was like "They'll probably score on the next one and then the Kings will lose."

So yeah.

I know, but like I said, DL has no idea what will happen next. The NHL won't give him an answer either way. He is really frustrated with the entire process in which the NHL has handled this mess. He even said in that interview a few weeks ago on Hockey Central that he expects the nhl and the nhlpa to fight it out all over again once its over.

Terrific game by Quick.

Quick always tries. That's really all that matters. He does stupid things but never gives up. There's probably only a few games in his entire career that a loss can be blamed on him.

Andreoff had 2, Kopitar ZERO!
Kopitar had 2 or 3 chances to shoot, but we all know what he does when that happens.

I don't think Lombardi is going to add to the roster. So far this roster has not earned it. Lombardi has to be extremely disappointed with Kopitar/Carter's road play.

The only way I want to see Lombardi make a trade is if it's to add a legitimate 2nd pairing defenseman that will be with us for the next 2-3 years minimum. Absolutely no point in trying to add that final piece right now, this season is flushed.

Time to do some spring cleaning.
Get some assets for Williams and Stoll at least.

11 outright road losses already, The Kings had 14 all of last season.

Something like 18 more road games to go ?

Stoll is not going to return anything, maybe a 6th round pick ? Stoll is a pure rental on the decline.

Only part of his game that is above average, is face-off's.

Maybe the whole team is coming down with measles....

Not that it's a surprise but no team meeting: (From the INsider post game

Brown, on whether he is going to call a team meeting:
I mean we’ve been talking about it for a month now. So if guys don’t know what’s going on, then they haven’t been listening. We’ve had plenty of meetings. We’ve talked about it. At a certain point, you’ve got to stop talking.

and Greene isn't worried
Matt Greene, on whether the team is comfortable handling adversity:
We’ve got a confident team right now. I mean we’ve got a confident team. I’m confident in this group that we can get it going. But it’s a matter of individuals to do it, to step up in the play and get wins.
Is he talking about the bowling team?

Sutter post game
On Dustin Brown referencing a lack of emotion:
He did? He made a bad change on the first goal.

In between periods of the Leafs Preds, Bob McKenzie put up the lastest percentages in the MacDavid sweeptakes and due to tonight's loss, the Kings are in the 15th (last) slot, with 1%..
two more months to go...just think of how high they can climb

If we're out of a playoff spot by the trade deadline I'd take that deal.
