lol at people talking about being sellers. Have a little heart. We are the champs, we better damn well go down swinging. I seem to remember 2012 had a similar regular season

I really wish people would stop saying this. The Kings were not this bad on road, the did not have a stretch of 13 wins in 41 games played either in 2012.

Also as Sutter said mutliple times.

Sutter "This is not the same team as last year".

Know how many road Games that 2012 team lost ? They lost 12 outright...ALL YEAR.

This Kings team(roster) has lost 11 already.

Where we are in the league, how we are playing etc are all irrelevant to me. We are the damn champs, I hope we have some pride and are buyers at the deadline so if we aren't going to retain, we at least give it a good shot, rather than just selling assets and giving up

a lot of people keep bringing up the 2012 Kings but in reality this team resembles the 1996 Devils more then anything else

This team is in worse shape than 2012 and 2014. Injuries, court cases, letting Mitchell leave, players playing well below their averages, not being able to play on the road, etc.
2012 was a sound team with problems scoring goals, this team has issues all over the place

The 2012 team was also top Five in team defense, this roster is about 15th after tonight I believe.

My point about the 2012 team was more about the fact people were willing to throw in the towel on the season, myself included. What i thought people would take from 2012, aswell as the disastrous first half to the 2013 season, is that you just gotta have a little faith. Believe in the heart of the cards yo, we got this

I am fine with losing games if the boy's leave it on the ice, but efforts like tonight...Just piss me off to no end.

At the Kings current pace of getting points on the road they'll have to sweep their 13 home games to get to 94 points. Vancouver currently holds the last playoff position and is presently on pace for 97 points and keep in mind the Kings 13 home games include teams like Montreal, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Washington, Tampa, Calgary, Vancouver, etc...so their chances of going 13-0 at home the rest of the way aren't good.

The Kings have 7 road games before the Trade Deadline and if after the 5th one (ironically the Levi Stadium game) they don't have 8 points from those games it's time to realize how impossible it is to replace Willie Mitchell, Slava Voynov, Tanner Pearson and what Mike Richards brought to this team (when he was playing well) and sell off some assets to the highest bidder(s).

They play like if they show up and beat a team like the Blackhawks every once in a while, the league is going to save a spot for them in the playoffs.

The scoring drought of late reminds me, it's going to be fun watching them get shutout in another Stadium Series game. You just know it's bound to happen.

Ugh. Another poor showing. A better game from Quick, I thought, but not enough with the group in front unable to sustain much the other way.

I wish Fox Sports would stop with the looks back to last season's glory. That just makes this mess look worse.

On the bright side, it'll be a buyer's market for Staples tickets again. (If this keeps up.)

It just boggles my mind that a team featuring Kopitar, Doughty, Quick, and Carter in key positions, all of which have been healthy, will likely miss the playoffs.

It's completely unacceptable that a team which has won 2 out of 3 Cups will likely miss the playoffs.

This disaster of a season should be hung on everyone's head, from Dean Lombardi down. What a tragedy.

Yup, reminds me of the 2010 Flyers, making the cup finals and then missing the playoffs the next year. Look at how that's turned out for them, they're a ****ing mess. Lombardi and the ownership are far more competent, but its still a concern.

I still see this team as a black hole/borderline trade deadline seller. They're a way different team this year who look finished out there...

The Flyers also haven't won jack **** in 30 years. The Kings core - Kopitar, Carter, Doughty, Quick - is as good as anyones in the league. Supplemental changes need to be made.

Yea the core is decent, but they're on the downside of their peak production years, as its already been pointed out. Doughty is the only one still within that 23 to 28 y/o range. That's when these guys are at their best and score the most points. Kopi is already in a decline, as is Carter (points wise). Quick is still world class though. Changes obviously need to be made, but not to the core because they're all we have at this point.

And win trades according to their fans.

 Yeah Richards isn't panning out, but B. Schenn sure as **** isn't the player a lot of people thought he would be. I still take that trade and those 2 cups any day. I still miss Simmonds from time to time though...
