We picked a hell of a time to hit the road with all the teams around us picking up points on a consistent basis. Every team got points tonight!
And when was the last time our goal dif was in the minus area? After tonight, -2.

I'd still take two and a half solid seasons from Richards over whatever the hell Simmonds/Schenn have done for Philly. The Kings weren't going anywhere with Simmonds and Schenn, other than being a team to walkover in the playoffs like we saw in 2010 and 2011.

The trade was worth it for the Vancouver series in 2012 alone. He was the catalyst to all the playoff success this team has had these last 3 years.

Simmonds and Schenn would be 3rd and 4th in scoring on the Kings. They are 4th and 5th on the Flyers!

You cant just move players between roles and systems and assume their points totals will be the same

On one hand I know better than to write this team off.

On the other hand this team is drastically different than the last few years.

Either way I'm fine. Make the playoffs, and they can do damage. Miss and the hard decisions become easy and we get to see a better, improved team next year. So detached right now.

Where we are in the league, how we are playing etc are all irrelevant to me. We are the damn champs, I hope we have some pride and are buyers at the deadline so if we aren't going to retain, we at least give it a good shot, rather than just selling assets and giving up

I'm all for Lombardi going for it if the Kings have a chance. However, they're now 5 points out of a spot, 3 teams just passed them in the standings, they still have 3 games left on this road trip and they're 1-7-2 on the road against Eastern teams with 16 goals scored, and then they come home to play Calgary who they can't hold a lead against in the 3rd period at home.

If the players start putting some wins together, go all in at the deadline, they're going for history. If they're out of a spot by double digits by the end of the month, sell, sell, sell. They need the cap space.

What really hurts is the 1 win home stand just before this current road trip. If the Kings are going to suck on the road, they have to be great at home. 1-2-4 isn't great.
