As I've said before, once you've reached the top, staying up there on that pedestal is just about impossible. Fans expectations are high and players have lost that certain drive it took to reach that top. They look nothing like the team that won that cup last season. Going to the finals don't seem as important to these guys as it has in the past. Have they tired of the system? Have they tired of the coach? Have they tired of the game in general? Something's deff. wrong and it's looking like some kind of shakeup is in order.

Does it really need a disclaimer? It sounds a lot dumber to say "This team has heart...just not right now." They're obviously the champs and can turn it on and so on, but this is a lifeless crap team right now and are finding new and interesting ways to lose games.

One bad high-by Brown, it happens, and we got beat and Regehr had to take a tripping penalty, no choice.

It happens. It's hockey. I have faith the Kings will make it back this season, just not a very good autumn this time around.

The team is 9-10-5 in their last 24 games while looking disinterested during most of that time, why are you surprised people are getting frustrated?

I don't get why some posters are surprised. Kings are playing underwhelming hockey and us fans are just frustrated watching their lackadaisical play. What's hard to get?

Well a lot of you guys are a whole lot more optimistic than me right now. I think we're absolutely ****ed and that this is the beginning of a really long slide to the bottom.

Today is the day I wish swearing were ok here because _________

It is. It's tough. The LeBrun article covered it. I think it's all valid--the fatigue both mental and physical, the long grind, the desire, the age of your body, sometimes the will is there but your mind is writing checks your body can't cash, and everyone is out to get the champs. And it reminds me of the Bruins a few years back. Just skating corpses. I respect it. But i'm not at all happy with what I'm watching. It's appaling because when you're watching Kopitar flop ugly passes up the middle for turnovers and the team just loses complete focus for 3 straight goals quickly you know something is not right with the team.

I agree, but just like Sutter says, how long do you say 'it's okay?'

They scored two PP goals and turned the game around in the 3rd period. Why are you guys reacting so poorly?

One of the goals was with a two-man advantage. Then they got the lead with the 5-on-4.

I don't get most of you and this garbage posting. So much negative emotion.

Yeah, but it's also not just that 3rd period, or just this game, or just this road trip, or just this month. They're lucky to be where they are in the standings. They're still living off that 6-0 home record at the start of the season, and they didn't even play that well in those 6 games.

All you can do is wait with this team, because they've earned that. That doesn't change that they haven't looked good with any consistency this season though.

If Clifford can't be too physical because of his concussion problems and he's not producing...What exactly does he do here?

It's Ryan freaking Reaves, you cant blame Clifford.

If the asking price is not to high I would not mind getting Chris Stewart.

I have faith the Kings will play better.

The problem is early losses to teams you should beat. Giving away points to Conference opponents. Not cleaning up on East teams(they did that last year).

Kopitar/Carter not producing or driving play. Folks it's a recipe for missing the playoff's.

Which Dean Lombardi would deem unacceptable, rightfully so.

Then how is Chicago doing it? Is it their style of play? More skill lets grind so it doesn't wear down on them.

This team needs a shakeup.

I say let some of the youth play. Call up Shore from Manchester or something. We need someone to inject some life into this corpse of a team right now.

Meh that's ballocks.

Chicago plays a real high tempo pace, they out pace teams on the ice.

Fatigue is not an excuse that is acceptable to anyone (except fan's).

This team is also not taking the body at all. They are hardly hitting and seem to shy away from it. Big hits can change the momentum in a game and they're not taking advantage of that.

Would love to see this but needs a transaction for roster numbers too, so eh.

I mean, with the way we've been driving play lately, it's supposedly only a matter of time before things turn around--but this team is 2013 Muzzin's advanced stats. Clean the other team up all game, dominate the puck most of the time, but turn over the puck and break down in the worst possible ways at the worst possible times and lose every special teams battle.

It's fixable, but it has to be fixed soon.

God, you're right Ron, I'm gonna go pour a drink :P
