The main area that I find Richards to be effective is on the point on the PP. It's pretty much the only place where he makes decisive choices.

The PP pisses me off too, what the hell is McNabb doing out there. The kings should only be putting out 3 d on the two units (Drew, Muzzin, and A-Mart), with either ricahrds or Stoll manning the 4th defensive spot.
On paper the first units forwards of Kopitar, Gaborik and carter should be a snipe show but it hasn't happened. Put Williams in for Carter so that there is a better passer out on that unit.
2nd unit I would have Carter at centre with TT and either brown or pearson.

I would rather see McNabb on the power play because he has shown the ability to make a pass.... Muzzin really doesn't need to be on the power play with Carter/Gabrorik/Kopitar... I'm really sick of watching Muzzin fire away and nail the goalie with a soft shot through no screen instead of passing to say Gaborik/Carter.... throw Richards/Martinez or McNabb out there... Muzzin just gets too excited about taking bad shots.... passing never comes into consideration...

Thank you Brown for not being invisible and taking an offensive zone high sticking call when up by one goal....

Thank you Williams for forgetting that you suck (ok he's good at hitting in rebounds around the net) driving the net, with less then 10 seconds before you go on the PK, remembering that you are in fact Williams just after crossing the blue line, which means you coughed up the puck/did a face plant started an odd man rush the other way and timed it perfectly with the guy getting out of the box... leading to Regehr (the best PK'er on the left side) getting burned and taking a penalty for a 5 on 3!!!! It's plays like this from a veteran in a one goal game (at the time) that just get me... I'm sure Sutter will call Williams out for this play...

Thank you Sutter.... for rolling out Brown/Stoll/Williams as the 2nd powerplay unit and Killing half of multiple PP's.... It is just sad watching them try and get in the zone and just watching the puck repeatedly cleared.... If you insist on running this as a "powerplay" unit they need to spend the next month working on nothing but zone entries....

Great game though... and Gaborik came through on the first goal of the game for me!!!!

That and I made some Star Anise sweet breads that came out way better then I thought they would, so it's hard to be all that upset!!!

Edit: checked the Sutter post game quotes on Kings Insider... called out goal tending and D... nothing about Williams hanging his team out to dry to start the PK. Just in case anyone was curious...

I predicted 5-1.. not far off.

Not surprised Clifford did not step in for Lewis at the end. It's Reaves. Watcha gonna do.

Your right, I don't blame Cliffy one bit. What are you gonna do? You make the trade of Nolan for Oiler's Gazdek plus a 5th. He is a heavy.

Reaves is a rarity on any team we will see in the playoffs. Can't plan your roster around him. Only D-man I can really think of that can handle him on our roster is Regehr and even he struggles, and there can't be many that take a regular shift that do. He's an absolute wrecking ball and great at what he does, and to his credit he's mostly squeaky clean (like Clifford, really), but he's the least of our worries. I'm more worried about regular players like Backes and Ott clowning around on a regular basis and our regular shift guys can take care of them.

I didn't have a problem with the Reaves hit, if the game was not almost over and close I doubt it's even a penalty.

If I remember correctly didn't Dwight King fight him a few years back? (Reaves)
