No one is going to start smaller lineup vs. the Jets.

Taking Greene out and putting McBain in = you'd better get ready to call up Forbort because McBains corpse is coming back to LA

Pick your poison. The Jets speed is going to beat Greene all game long. Stoll is going to no doubt draw Andrew Ladd a lot.....No need to talk about how that will turn out.

I don't disagree, I'm just saying it would be completely opposite of everything we know of Sutter to sit Greene now in favor of McBain or really just about anyone else.

I don't even want to think about the depth matchups right now, vomit.

I don't even care to read too much into tonight's game because it was a typical Kings-Ducks regular season game; teams take turns beating each other into submission and making one another look silly, then some odd bounces take over. The part that scares me the most is how tired we looked, it's right back to the pre-winning-streak version of the team...which is doubly problematic because we play every other night for pretty much all of March. Not used to letting teams like Ottawa and Anaheim dominate us physically, that's bad. And Kopitar especially looks gassed, that's VERY bad; guy got pushed over casually by ****ing Lovejoy.

Yeah, the Kings kept the actual chances down, but not the zone time. Hockey being the weird game that it is, the Kings got a couple goals while being outplayed. Only a matter of time though when one team is constantly in the offensive zone, and we saw the results in the 3rd.

Then I'll just have to agree to disagree. You can have all the zone time you want but if you give your opponent better scoring chances (with a 2 goal lead to boot) you ain't outplaying them. It could have easily been 4-0 with the Carter and Williams chances.

How about Doughty with ZERO pp goals. Although I'm not surprised the way he shoots it high and wide almost every chance he gets.

Him too. It's a decent size list.

The crazy thing is that the Kings are averaging more goals per game in the regular season this year than they did last year.

2.42 gpg in 13-14
2.05 gapg in 13-14

2.67 gpg in 14-15
2.46 gapg in 14-15

Scoring .25 more goals per game this year, but giving up .41 more goals per game. The difference is .16 goals per game, which is 13 goals over 82 games. It's nuts how small of a margin it is. Say the Kings gave up 13 fewer goals this year, but everything else is the same. Where are they in the standings right now? The one goal here and there that sends a game into OT, where the Kings have been terrible, as opposed to winning in regulation.

Or if the Kings just scored 13 more goals this year. It works either way. That's not even 1 more goal per guy on the team.

That's a lot of scoring for some of the guys on this team and I'm not just talking about the 4th line.

With how little Kopitar is shooting; someone like Brown/Gabo really has to start picking up the slack goal scoring wise.

Kopitar may not hit 20 goals this season, he is not shooting anywhere near enough.

If Greene were to ever have a 3:41 shift, it would only be because he had his arms and legs severed and was laying across the net in such a way that the puck couldn't enter nor be covered

I'm not sure if he attempted a shot or if it was more of a shot pass tonight. I agree, he just doesn't wasn't to shoot like he used too, which will never get him to 20.

Regardless of how they got to 2-0, the kings had a lot of A+ chances (carter, Williams. Gaborik) to make it 3 and when they failed you always felt you'd be looking back at those missed opportunities.

Kings playing .800 hockey over their last 10 games; they keep that up and they'll easily be second in the division and play Vancouver in the opening round, either way. The performance against Ottawa wasn't even bad, they just ran into a hot goalie, a team playing really well, and were probably focused on the Ducks. They ended up losing both; good lesson. I never put much stock into Kings/Ducks games (excuse me, FREEWAY FACE-OFF!). I don't find them entertaining at all as it's usually a giant circus. Having to watch it being announced by the Ducks crew makes it even more unbearable. Nothing this team is doing right now overly concerns me outside of Williams and Stoll. Both are good as gone in my book. I'm sure Williams will be a monster in the playoffs though. Greene was garbage and SAT last season. He ended up playing awesome in the playoffs. I'm not worried about him. The defense, when completely healthy, will be fine. Sekera looked like a guy playing his first game against an opponent he rarely sees while trying to acclimate into a completely new system. In time I believe he'll be even better than Voynov ever was. Once Alec is back, the defense will be damn good. I'm expecting a strong 60 minute effort against the Jets. So many downers. This team has righted the ship.

Matt Greene is the worst player on the ice most nights for the Kings. It's just amazing that we are stuck with these awful players signed for so many years.

And Ron, yes you give Dean credit for winning the cups but it doesn't mean he is above criticism. Dean's moves following the cup win, namely re-signing Greene and not buying out Richards were disasters that will have long term implications. The Kings basically have gotten better production from McBain at the league minimum and Shore at 925k and Dean is paying those two over $8m.
Seems like Dean (and some here) wants to keep the team together at all costs and that's just wrong.

You keep the core (though that does not mean you must sign Brown for ridiculous money till enternity..) and get rid of the players who regressed. If thats one player of the core, than get rid of him too.

I constantly read that Stoll should sign for less and I wonder what games people are watching. His hard work and face offs will be missed but c'mon, he is done.

Greene still has his fair share of good games, but more than often he is ridiculously bad. €2.5M isnt much but should be used on other players. I'm sure there are teams out there who are interested in that contract.

I can understand why he kept Mike Richards.

Are we all jumping off the bridge again?

While I didn't like the result of the two consecutive games, I hope the team uses up today to fully recharge in preparation VS Winnipeg and work out on the flaws the Senators and the Ducks exposed.

PS: I blame the SI cover.

PPS: Since someone mentioned the Canadiens have been scouting the LA Kings, I wonder what the Canadiens have in mind.
