For anyone that was concerned about London's depth on forwards this year. Here is how they compare to previous years

22-23 season, finished with 3 forwards over 1 PPG
21-22 season, finished with 4 forwards over 1 PPG
19-20 season, finished with 4 forwards over 1 PPG
15-16 season(mem cup year), finished with 5 forwards over 1 PPG

This year there are currently 7 forwards over 1 PPG with O'Rielly almost there at 35 PTS in 39 GP. They may not have made any big moves this year but this group has potential to go down as one of the deepest teams in London history.
9 guys total on the roster at 1 PPG or better, which is crazy!

Barkey
Julian
Gazizov
Cowan
Dickinson
Bonk
McCue
Halttunen
Sim

Offensively we are one of the better teams in the league

We now own the best winning percentage, power play, and short handed goals. We are second in PK and penalty minutes.

We are the deepest team for scoring with 9 players with 10 or more goals at this point in the season. The next closest is Saginaw and Sudbury each with 8.

Even though the knights stood pat at the deadline we share the title of most NHL drafted players with Saginaw at 9 each. The next closest is NB at 6.

Simpson is #1 in GAA and Wins
Halttunen is #1 in PP goals
O’Rielly is #1 in rookie scoring
Barkey is #1 in Shorties and #2 in Assists
Dickinson is #5 in +-
Cowan is #4 in Pts/Gm
Dale Hunter is #1 in Wins and Winning Percentage

The Knights were a perfect 1-for-1 on the power play.

The Sting 1-for-7.

Sarnia outshot London 40-33.

Knights forward Landon Sim blocked a shot early in the second period and left the game.

London was missing forward Ruslan Gazizov and goaltender Michael Simpson. Both are listed as day-to-day with lower body injuries.

Kasper Halttunen is expected to return this week from the World Junior Hockey Championship.

But wait everyone is saying we are done because we did not make 73 trades at the deadline haha. This is why I was adamant that very little would be done at the deadline.

I am counting 10 NHL draftees on each of London and Saginaw rosters
London is second in PPM at 609 minutes of sin time to Steelheads 618 minutes
London is also #1 in attendance

It’s 9 NHL picks as per elite prospects London Knights at eliteprospects.com

For perspective the Hamilton Bulldogs Mem cup team also had 9 NHL drafted players at the time.

Went back to read some old posts in London 24 season thread (part one), so many posters were so disgusted with this team future, saying sale sale sale, they are going nowhere this year, I have no confidence in this team. Now many have changed their tune

I feel like I can say this, but most other fan bases knew this would eventually happen. It always does. Double feature next weekend. How exciting!

Yes McCue was drafted but was never signed so he is now an NHL FA so we are at 10...lets just say 12 because Dickinson is a top 5-10 pick this year and O'Reilly has worked himself into Early 2nd late 1st potential.

Saginaw has 9 with NHL rights, plus Hache who was drafted by Florida in the 7th round and went through unsigned as well. We will also give them Misa and Parekh.

So Essentially both teams with 12 NHL drafted players...

Looking back I a few years time you could likely add a few more, especially Brzustewicz

I don't know if anyone on this thread has ever seen Evan Van Gorp having a bad game, a free agent by Mark and Dale, this kid work ethic is completely unreal. I am ready to put the letter C on his Jersey, I know poster here will laugh at the unrealistic comment, but like I said this kid is unreal, right. Just before his goal he was in the right corner with three Stings, and he did come out with the puck that led to his scoring, he plays this way every game

Julien has been one of the biggest drivers of this team's recent success. He started the season with 9 points in the first 17 games and is now at 50 points in 38 games. Scoring depth was a weakness to start the season, but Julien, Gazizov, Sim, and McCue have really alleviated that problem by stepping up their game.

Sam O'Rielly coming in at #34 on Craig Button's list

tsn.ca/nhl/craig-s-list-dominant-defencemen-set-to-take-over-2024-nhl-draft-1.2061018

What a massive jump. I believe he was a "C" ranked skater when the NHL Central Scouting preliminary rankings came out

Nothing is new, as predicted earlier O'Reilly will be drafted in the middle round 1 between 10th and twentieth. And Dickinson will likely go within the top 5 picks, depending on if anyone of the top 5 teams are in need of a defender. IMHO

Nicholl a late start to the season because of injury, will need to find more ice for himself if he wants to move up the list, only he can do that, Dale does not give free ice. I wouldn'd be surprised to see Van Gorp working himself on the final list as well to a 6th or 7th round pick, as is so for Johnston as well
