If Sam O’Rielly has a great playoffs, he will be like Easton Cowan and go into the first round. But he is not going 10-12. Even Robert Thomas who is what Sam reminds me of went 20th.

I understand, let me remind you he is not alone in his draft pool, and his draft this year is not as deep as that of McMichael and Robert Thomas in Northern America, except for Europe where they are having a stronger year there. We need to look at the overall talents in his draft, and because of his continuous progression as the year progress, he's getting more attention and looks. Wright did not finish his draft year strong, and he wasn't picked first overall, the ones that were on the up swing did, like Cowan was last year Sam O'Reilly is on the up swing, and I am not seeing him slowing down any

Report: Toronto Maple Leafs, Corey Perry have mutual interest
As discussed on TSN 1050’s First Up, former NHLer Carlo Colaiacovo reported that he believes there is mutual interest between the Toronto Maple Leafs and free agent forward Corey Perry.
Perry, who has proven to be a thorn in Toronto’s side in the past, became a UFA earlier this year after the Chicago Blackhawks let him go in what Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli previously reported was related to an “alcohol-fueled incident.”
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Wednesday that commissioner Gary Bettman had cleared Perry to return to the NHL.
“I have started working with experts in the mental health and substance abuse fields to discuss my struggles with alcohol and I will take whatever steps necessary to ensure this never happens again,” Perry said after his release. “I hope to regain the trust and respect of everyone who has believed in me throughout my career.”

Sam O'Rielly coming in at #34 on Craig Button's list

tsn.ca/nhl/craig-s-list-dominant-defencemen-set-to-take-over-2024-nhl-draft-1.2061018

What a massive jump. I believe he was a "C" ranked skater when the NHL Central Scouting preliminary rankings came out
Huge congrats to him! Very impressed!

Went back to read some old posts in London 24 season thread (part one), so many posters were so disgusted with this team future, saying sale sale sale, they are going nowhere this year, I have no confidence in this team. Now many have changed their tune
Yeah they hit the tipping point and pulled it back really impressive imo they needed to find their drive they did I believe Sim coming back helped alot hopefully he isnt out long term

I was totally unaware of this stat, but the 2005 London Knights were the last team to win a Memorial Cup and League Championship while being the hosts. Meaning we were the last team to go through the front door and win a Mem Cup and not the back door.

Let’s hope Saginaw doesn’t do it this year.

That is exactly the goal this year...who knows if we'll ever be able to assemble a roster like this again (even if we have a lot of picks to trade). For the last 5ish years we've finally become a place where people will report but we're not (and doubt we'll ever be) as desirable a location as the Londons Kitcheners, etc. so we need to take advantage of this opportunity of (1) being the MemCup host and (2) having a combination of Young/Old talent that we'll probably won't have again for more than 10+ years. It took us a LONG time to find a GM/Coach combination that will lead to success and I'm guessing that both will move on to bigger opportunities in the future. Heck, when Lazary came to town, he was an assistant to Spencer Carbery who's now coaching in the NHL...it doesn't take long and Lazary seems very well-regarded in the hockey world.

Nothing is new, as predicted earlier O'Reilly will be drafted in the middle round 1 between 10th and twentieth. And Dickinson will likely go within the top 5 picks, depending on if anyone of the top 5 teams are in need of a defender. IMHO

Nicholl a late start to the season because of injury, will need to find more ice for himself if he wants to move up the list, only he can do that, Dale does not give free ice. I wouldn't be surprised to see Van Gorp working himself on the final list as well to a 6th or 7th round pick, as is so for Johnston as well
Those are some BOLD predictions. With the depth of this years draft, O'Rielly is more likely a late 1st - early second. There are probably 15-20 forwards alone that have shown more so far this year.

Nichol may go as high as 4th round but he really needs to show more. Realistically 5th-7th.

Van Gorp has shown well but he is undersized. someone might take a flyer on him in the 7th but doubtful.

Johnson was eligible last year and hasn't shown much more, Likely wont get drafted.

Woolley could also be a late pick. If a team wants to take a chance on a Big defenseman. Think nicolas mattinen. Had similar numbers in his draft year, was bigger, and went in the 6th. Realistically Woolley might go in the 7th.

This prediction would be alright if only that one word on that comment first line was correct, unfortunately it is not. This year's North America's early round of elite talents is just not there this time around, the depth in this year talent pool draft is at where it was two years ago are not that strong, Quebec and Ontario leagues are not as strong as previous years, unfortunately, the talent will pick up again in later rounds. Don't get me wrong now, the first 8 to 10 picks will be very strong but what comes after will be for players shows off their talent near the end of their year, this mid first round will be for the taking, and is where O'Reilly will fit in, depending on what comes out of Europe, WHL USHL and College In my humble opinion I see about 4 to 6 players coming out of Ontario and Quebec combined in the first 20 picks, of course things can surely change by draft day, we never know for sure

O’ Reilly is 100% going I first round, pin this tweet probable in the 20s but first round none the less, he’s better then Cowan was at this point last year and it’s in my opinion not that close. Also him playing centre will help his draft

Central scouting released mid-term rankings today, 3 Knights - Dickinson at 7, O'Reilly at 40 and Woolley at 129 - are on the NA Skaters list

Keep in mind this is a North American list and does not take into account any of the European players. Some of if not most if picked will go farther down the draft. The only true list that matters is the list made of draft day.

I am not going to even try but;

Does anyone care to attempt a prediction for tonight game?
Snowy

Edit: I actually want Saginaw to win because I find it hilarious that somehow Kitchener has been in first since the last time they played London (Nov 5th) and it sets up for an amazing showdown next weekend.

I think tonight comes down to goaltending and discipline.

Stay out of the box and the Knights will win even strength…. But we can’t stay out of the box 🤷
