No Simpson, Gaz, Halttunen tonight. Willmore starting, Alexei backing up.
Brain fart. Meant to say Oke
Idk if it's so much about the programs as it is the ability to sign endorsement deals while in the NCAA
In the OHL atm you can't that will hopefully change in the next few season to make the CHL more attractive to US players again

According to the new NCAA rules, Division I, Division II, and Division III athletes may receive compensation in exchange for licensing of their name, image, and likeness. Therefore, student-athletes may enter into sponsorship agreements that include payment for promoting products or services by: Providing autographs

Why did the Knights not get a 1st round comp pick for Moore? Any explanation on the rule? Saginaw declared Fantilli defective and traded his rights over a season after he was drafted and still got the 1st round comp pick (to take Parekh).

In pyettes article. It said that because they didn't declare him defect in September, they don't get 1st round comp

You have to declare the player in September before the season starts to get the 1st. Because they waited until now they only get a second. They probably thought they could convince him to come.

Hmm, maybe the lost 2020-21 pandemic season is the reason behind Saginaw still being able to get the 1st round comp pick then, unless there has been a rule change since then. They picked Fantilli in April 2020 and declared him defective and traded in September 2021.

Sarnia needs to change their name to the Sarnia Stink and their logo to a trash can with flies buzzing around.
Hey now! I am hopeful they build up a solid team cause our rivalry is so fun when Sarnia is good… but actually it’s almost always fun cause they hate us!

For anyone that was concerned about London's depth on forwards this year. Here is how they compare to previous years

22-23 season, finished with 3 forwards over 1 PPG
21-22 season, finished with 4 forwards over 1 PPG
19-20 season, finished with 4 forwards over 1 PPG
15-16 season(mem cup year), finished with 5 forwards over 1 PPG

This year there are currently 7 forwards over 1 PPG with O'Rielly almost there at 35 PTS in 39 GP. They may not have made any big moves this year but this group has potential to go down as one of the deepest teams in London history.

I wonder if there is a rule that states that if he doesn’t show up to training camp, they can declare him defective hence getting a first round compensation pick. Once the regular season starts, it becomes a compensation second round pick.

I have no idea on the rules for this, but that’s what makes sense to me.
