Too bad about Edward’s. Thought he was a Knight for sure

So far a strong draft IMO both smart players. Does everyone think both could make the team next season?

I’m torn, with the 3rd round pick I’m torn. Ethan Garden might still be too big of a risk at this slot. Any flyers will likely be considered with the abundance of 5th round picks we have.

But he is uncommitted as far as I know so we take him. Was hoping Weston Cameron and Nik Rossetto would fall but no such luck.

Ethan Garden and let’s go 3 for 3!

Max Mews comes from good Blood-Lines.
Dad played @ North Eastern University for 4 Years and had a few years in the Pros.
His brother Henry Mews plays for the 67s and will be picked in the '24 NHL Draft,
in the 1st or 2nd round as Right Shot D-Man from Ottawa.
It looks like Max was injured for part of this past season.
He had 4 Points in 4 Games in the OHL Cup.
This could be a very good 'sleeper pick.'

Max Mews!

Based on what I’ve seen good draft so far…. I don’t think any issues with these guys signing?
Shouldn't be any issues with these players showing up. Howery probably has a good chance to make the team, Mitchell and Mews likely take the Jr. B route to start, especially with the number of 07's ahead of them. All good value picks for their position, no steals unfortunately but also not a lot of risk. Overall good first day!

Does makes lots of sense London's pick of Caleb Mitchell

London have speed at forwards and have lots of firepower on defense, still, they do not have the fastest group of defense this year. Been saying this all year along with faceoff troubles earlier on, if it wasn't for the forwards coming back, they wouldn't be as successful

Gotta be honest, the Knights Love well conditioned players. Going back to 2022 Sam O’Rielly was a top 5 well conditioned player (along with Sam Dickinson) for the OHL combine, 2023 combine was Medvedev and Fagan were tops in OHL combine results for their positions and Caleb Mitchell was best conditioned Defenseman this year.

We have some of the best conditioned players in the league. And by having that, we can dominate a game and play and skate a full 60mins.

Where would be be without George, Dickinson, Bonk, Barkley and Cowan? We can stick them out at any point in a game, and I don’t think twice about are they tired or is it too much ice time.

Not digging on the Rangers, but if Rehkopf was the best conditioned player in the OHL he would most certainly be the Best player in the OHL.

By the time this kid gets a top 4 spot all the D you call "not fast" will have moved on so not sure how u say it makes sense....... in respect to helping this group otmr next years.
And I'd rather have good feet on a Dman then be "fast" Ya know, pivot, turn outside, stop/start........things a D needs over "fast"
Youve gone on about the D for a while........And this D group is very solid compared to their peers historically in all facets ( feet, outlets, skating, physicality, transition, coverage.......sure there are breakdowns, it's Jr hockey)
Yes it's a team game, D system, n the Fs help that team D, but this D talent wise including skating is among londons best in recent memory.
Not sure what you're watching. But this D is among the most talented LK has had in a long time and a huge reason for LKs defensive success last 2 years.

Wow! Thank you for describing what I have been saying all season young lad, I don't recall writing about Mitchell coming into London next year making a difference

How do you criticise the best team with the best defense in the league, you don't, but you can still find improvement, even if they are best. I never criticise or name one player with a problem, if one player is having one problem, it is still a team problem. This where I am coming from, I don't criticise the player even if he's at fault, even recognizing that fact, but I will the team he's playing on. One new player alone will not make a difference, but can help moving the team in resolving a team problem

London is the best defensive team of the league this season, despite of the slow footing of some great players playing the backend on this team. I am not criticising the one player(s), I am suggesting one part of the team game that seem to be missing or faulting. When player plays 25-30 minutes a game, he or they need to find time to rest on the ice. It's on ice management they are having problems with, no problems finding Ds speeding up one way but no so much finding speed coming back. The team dresses a great bunch of offensive defenders but are still being over run in their zone quite easily by other teams, and relying too much on goaltending bailing them out. If London can find a player that can better manage ice time for the 30 minutes when he's on the ice, to me that makes sense, a lot of it
Good call with your first two prdiction rve24. Cheers!

Seems like a good draft for the knights, first two picks seems solid choices. I love the Mews pick if he is anything like his brother!
