It's a season in progress gearing up for after season hockey, you don't want your team burned before the end of it, they also need to pace themselves accordingly. They are learning as a group by playing the best to be the best and learning from games they should have won.

London will lose some easy winnable games again this season but a game like last night feels really good and does wonders for confidence of the overall team. They will be fine

Oh I really like this kid, the title of my name here kind of spells out what I like, this kid is a centerman with speed under his feet and great hockey vision for a 16 yr old, he's a keeper in my opinion
I agree that he is ready to play, but the hunters will have to make a decision soon to keep him up or not. There is a bit of a logjam for the 4th line players. The top 9 is pretty obvious, and then there are 5 or 6 players that have been rotation the 4th line. Some skill, some physical. If they move a couple to strengthen the top 9, he would be a great 4th line center for an energy line in the playoffs.

He is also 17 which makes keeping him up slightly easier

No need to rush him, he's developing really nicely in Bs, it didn't hurt Julien's progress, beside there are nothing the matters with any of their 4th liners on the team right now, they are all following their progressive instructions as expected of them.
In My Humble Opinion

As good a 60 minutes as Ive seen all season.

Van Gorp's game is quietly growing on me. The Boulton Brothers, not so much but they serve a purpose.

NIcholl and O'Reilly found another gear. Sim has made a diffrence already.

You can see it slowly meshing. Lets work on the consistency now, shall we?

That was a great win, boys were flying last night.

SIM surprised me that he could make such a noticeable impact in the lineup.

Van Gorp like others have said has stood out and impressed, he definitely needs to hit the gym and bulk up though.

O’rielly will get noticed by scouts this year. He is playing up to expectations, need to see a bit more from Nichol.

I would have been very surprised at the beginning of the year to see Barkey named to TC. He has shown another gear, him and Cowan are unstoppable on the PK and they both have a spot with their speed.

Is it just me or is anyone else underwhelmed by Bonk, don’t get me wrong he does everything well but I look at last years Ethan DelMastro and that’s what I expect of a first round NHL pick. Nothing wrong with Bonks play but just not that dominant at this point.

Looking at our kids in the wings, P.J. Fagan and Blake Arrowsmith are have good seasons among others. I’m looking forward to seeing them audition over the break.

At the deadline I would love the knights to go after some value players, I have my eyes on Gavin Hayes or Demi Goure. Both teams FLT and OS are rarely trading players out so likely not happening.

Hayes for Johnston, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th

Projected line up:

Halttunen Cowen Barkey
Hayes Julien Gazizov
McCue O’reilly Sim
Van Gorp Nichol Van Bommel

In rotation: S/R Boulton

Dickinson Bonk
George Edwards
Leonard McKinnon
Woolley Brzustewicz

Never thought of it before but Goure would be an excellent compliment add if he could be had for the right deal.

I agree with you and Coach... Of our first year players, Van Gorp seems to possess the most talent and speed. I've seen him get rocked a few times (e. g. Punnett hit) but he'll learn to keep his head up, plus he'll fill out.

I thought Nichol had a solid game last night. Used his speed, engaged physically and contributed offensively.

Bonk is solid. Perhaps he is playing a role and in a manner the coaches want him to play.

Very solid team win last night.

My Xmas wish list includes Nick Lardis from Brantford. Has over 20 goals (draft pick of Chicago), he would add some much needed offensive depth.

I don't think anyone is getting Hayes without a quality 06 going the other way. In fact he might be one of the few players that might garner someone's 07

My Christmas wish is Paul Ludwinski and or Owen Beck. The reason is Paul Ludwinski might not cost as much but he will cost us something like William Nicholl and a couple draft picks and Beck will cost us a lot of draft picks and potential players.

However, I don’t think we are getting a player like Owen Beck because he will cost us an arm and a leg or Saginaw will outbid us with their multitude of draft picks.

Pros: Owen Beck is Mr. Everything. He can kill penalties, he can play on the power-play, he is a goal scorer, and he wins face-offs. Dale Hunter’s potential captain and most reliable veteran player.
Paul Ludwinski is an amazing hockey player. Offensively he has great vision, great passing skills and IQ. He is a more consistent Ruslan Gazizov with more of a veteran vibe.

Cons: despite being a young team last year, we actually have now have eight 2004 players, three 2003 players, and we might lose two of three 2005 players in Bonk, Cowan and Halttunen. So, as we know, Mark Hunter will always be looking towards the future, and because of that we might be standing still Because losing 10 players is a lot to recover from if we don’t have draft picks to supplement them.

I am wondering if Bonk will be the next captain for the Knights, while McCue has been doing the ceremonial face offs. I noticed on Friday that it was Bonk who was talking to the refs every time it was needed and relaying info to Dale. That’s usually the captains job.

so the 2018/19 knights had 12 NHL drafted players which is the most of the last 15 years... pretty stacked team.

This year we are sitting at 8, with O'rielly, Nichol, Dickinson, Brzustewicz yet to be drafted. This could be the most elite Knights team in many years if we add a drafted player at the deadline we should look back in history to have a total of 13+ drafted players, for another reference last years team should end up having 13.

Starting this garbage up again?

Or contend and sell spare parts for picks as the team has a long successful track record of doing so
What garbage you talking about? The northern 3 game trips are usually a good indicator of what you have and have not. It gives management a chance to see

Unfortunately that 12 NHL draftee team did not win that fourth game against that Guelph series, had they played that fourth game the same way this year's team played against Saginaw last friday they would have swept that series.

It is not how many draftees on your team it's how well your team plays a system as a team that makes the difference. I am not sure what year it was but North Bay Centennials with only 5 draftees(only 2 had NHL careers) made it all the way up to the big "M" Tourney that year. It's not how many super stars it's how well you perform as a team.

I have just checked the year was 1993-94 season.

There is a solid correlation between prospect pedigree and team performance at this level… I should run a linear regression but I’d rather make the assumption and let someone prove me wrong 😉

Last year Windsor had a grand total of 5 nhl drafted players where Peterborough had 10!
