Not sure I would agree with "imploded". They were 6W-4L, 8W-2L and 3W-7L in the first 10, second 10 and third 10 games after the trade deadline including last night. Overall 17W-13L. (I have counted a SO or OT win as a win and SO or OT loss as a loss). It's really been the last 10 games where they have definitely underperformed as they were 14W-6L their first 20 games after the deadline. It seems something has changed with the team chemistry these last 10 games. They seem tighter in their own end, overplaying in the offensive zone, lack of discipline and average goaltending.LOL say hello to first round exit this team has imploded since the deadline Mark made the wrong call! Should have went all in or went full sell but neither happen so the knights will be left holding the bag in their hand AGAIN
As far as last night's game, London was very sloppy in their own end in the first period, some lack of discipline cost them two goals and that shorty by Windsor hurt. Windsor's goaltender outplayed ours and Windsor's talent showed through. The Knights pushed back late in the second but I was really surprised to see them come out trapping in the third! They had the momentum, needed a W to preserve their shot at first in the confernece and they are trapping down two ... why ?! to preserve a two goal deficit and pull the goalie with 5 minutes left to try to tie it up?! That's coaching and I can't blame the players there.
I think the Knights are far more effective using their team speed to pressure the other team's defence. I scratch my head as to why they don't use it !
I think they will get by the first round but unless they get some mojo back that's as far as they go. Let's hope they can grab onto that chemistry again.
