Lombardi was some fine piece of the puzzle in (Calgary). So fast and speedo. Here he wasn't the same, but so well we have so many other good offensive players.

This might be a start of something really juicy and big. I'm craving for it.
That Luongo deal is gone and it was just words spoken by the citizens of the world?

We could have added Lou with Lombardi on the roster.

His contract didn't have any baring on whether or not Lou is Toronto bound.

Chuck, what's your personal opinion on what the Leafs will do about their goaltending?

It just made too much sense really.

Lombardi is just not a forward we need this year.

Do we have room for BOTH Steckel and McClement on this team?

Especially with other centres, Bozak, Grabovski, also Connolly and Kadri can play C as well.

Is Mike Brown guaranteed a spot with Leo Komarov potentially doing the same job more effectively?

Depth chart is still fairly clogged... I don't see it.

Same here. I don't see Kadri being kept around for a bottom six role. I also don't see Kadri beating out one of Kessel, Bozak, Lupul, Van Reimsdyk, Grabovski or Kulemin/MacArthur for a top six spot.

Only way I see Kadri make the team is if MacArthur is traded and Carlyle thinks Kulemin is more suited for a 3rd line checking role.

Im fine with keeping Connolly/Macarthur until the deadline, they have solid value that could grow if they do well offensively.

Hoping we get a few extra picks solely based on the fact that this draft looks fairly deep.

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabo-MacA/Kadri/Frattin
Kulemin-McClement-Connolly
Komarov-Steckel-Brown/Orr

Still seems a little crowded. It's better than it was before though.

12 spots, we currently have 14 fwd's at camp.

Unless Kadri is really a bottom 2 fwd at camp, he'll make it.

The thing is, by virtue of his hat trick in the scrimmage, and the fact that he's been playing competetive hockey all season, is it even possible that Kadri is one of the worst forwards? I just don't see it. He HAS to be in there. I don't think I've ever rooted for someone more in my entire life. This kid is fueled by doubters, those players can be some of the most effective.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle

The pick Leafs receive is in 2014. Right now it's a fourth rounder but can improve to third if Lombardi re-signs or reaches certain stats.

I think there are options out there for Nonis, but he's playing hardball.

Bernier is on the radar and there have been discussions regarding him. Several names have been bantered around but there's other teams knocking on the door as well. He'll be a "cheaper" option than Loungo, but not one the Leafs are willing to pay a hefty price for since Nonis's view is that he's not an upgrade on Reimer.

He'd be acquired to be a "tandem", but he's also just as much of a question mark as Reimer/Scrivens, so I dont see that going too far unless LA undersells.

And he's not moving on the Leafs offer for Loungo. The exact offer, I am not aware of.

thanks for the insight.

I think his ceilling offer for Luongo is Bozak+2nd or Bozak+Colborne/Ashton/Percy/mid-level prospect etc.

definitely not willing to go higher than that it seems. I think they want Bozak+Kadri.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Kadri, to be honest. Connolly, Mac, Frattin, Kadri: only 3 of them can play the 3rd line. If Connolly got traded, then we'd be able to celebrate.
