I'm not sure if I'd rather just cut the condition and take the 4th so its this year, if this draft is so good. You never know, that 4th + let's say 40th overall (our second) could move us up to the early 30's for the that risky home run pick who fell out of the first round. Stocking up on picks this year not only helps cause its a great draft, but for moving up purposes.

I think there are options out there for Nonis, but he's playing hardball.

Bernier is on the radar and there have been discussions regarding him. Several names have been bantered around but there's other teams knocking on the door as well. He'll be a "cheaper" option than Loungo, but not one the Leafs are willing to pay a hefty price for since Nonis's view is that he's not an upgrade on Reimer.

He'd be acquired to be a "tandem", but he's also just as much of a question mark as Reimer/Scrivens, so I dont see that going too far unless LA undersells.

And he's not moving on the Leafs offer for Loungo. The exact offer, I am not aware of.

He was only signed for this year and would have been a UFA at season end, good move to get a draft choice and salary we retained on the deal will ge gone for next year, Burke rule for our first trade.

Opens up a spot on the roster, we need to move another one or two players and open a few more spots.
