Anyone have a quote of Bouillon saying he's NHL ready ? None of these are saying he is.
Here it is ;:sarcasm:

"Bouillon keeps saying he's NHL ready and arguably our best prospect.

It's idiotic to think that but it's more idiotic to say it." - WeThreeKings

He has so much to learn still and this will be a big development year for him. It isn't only in the defensive end as he has almost no deception with his head, feet or torso and just uses his arms to deke which makes him incredibly predictable and easy to defend at the pro level. He needs to work on handling the puck closer to his base and pulling his hands in before releasing passes.

In junior he could just blow by and easily outmuscle smaller. slower players but as we saw multiple times again on Saturday he was easily stuffed trying to skate the puck out and was treacherously close to having crossing passes picked off due to his hand/blade location. He has a bad habit of sweeping the puck as opposed to pulling and snapping it on passes and he will need to fix that in short order.

The kid has missed a ton of development and we need to be patient. Just hope for steady progression this year in Laval and hopefully he can take bigger steps next season. I don't expect him to be in Montreal until the middle of next season at the earliest but who knows, maybe he takes it all in and applies it quickly, you never know with young prospects.

I hope everyone is a believer. This kid is a gamer. Gonna probably start in AHL but he will get plenty of sniffs this year in case of injuries. Next year you can't hold him back.

He's where I was hoping he'd be game wise. The pro tools are translating quite well, but the rawness and lack of reps are also really showing in several facets. He has a lot of things left to figure out, but if he can get his weaknesses to be about league average he'll be a force and a difference maker. What he does well he already does at a pro level.

Risk management is a big thing for Defs and he has to learn/face the risk to respect it and thus learn were the line is. Decision making will get better as he faces AHL players. He was done with junior if he wanted to take the next step.

Some lessons, you think you know, but then get shown you only thought you knew... it hurts to get burn, but... then you really know...

He'll adapt, that post game interview showed he's not a hot head and took the experience for what is. To him, it was a good measuring stick with lessons he won't forget.

Seems to get better every game. It wasn’t perfect tonight, but he did show a lot more positives than negatives.

He did get some looks and took some risks, which he will always do, which put him in a few occasions where he could shine.

Send him down, let him build up that swagger. He will always make some mistakes but if he can choose those moment well he’ll bring more positive than negative in the long run.

Fully agreed, he will be an NHLer and a good one if he takes the correct decisions in terms of risk taking. Right now he always choses the high risk high reward option which is fun to watch but will cost more than it brings if he does not alternate with more conservative plays

Yeah, that headline says he could make the jump, but doesn't say he's NHL ready.

Probably google translate failing, or some random blogger didn't translate the article well.
What he said was Mailloux had all the tools and he felt he was the closest to the NHL than any other D prospect. That would never get misconstrued on this board would it? :sarcasm:

I think Mailloux would benefit a lot from playing 2 full seasons in the AHL, he needs to get his game counter way higher. I keep looking at his game and all I see are errors of anticipation/causing anticipation, this is very fixable - repetitions.

You can't know ahead of time exactly how long Mailloux will need to be in the AHL to progress to a level where he will have a better impact in the NHL, though the lack of games played over the last few years tends to suggest it could be longer than anticipated.

Year and a half in the A and hopefully he comes up for the playoff push next spring. The offence is definitely tantalizing but as a few posters have talked about in the past his defense needs work. The way he followed Hughes around last night was like me in a rec league soccer game.

He is quite quite raw tbh but I think he’ll get there. I know he’s responsible for his actions but you have to wonder if he hadnt lost the year would he be trending toward a #1
