Im really excited for this kid. His size, skating, and shot are just top tier attributes you dont get often. The amount of YOUNG talent we have on D is nuts. I dont want him to be rushed obviously but I do want him to get a taste of NHL action this year even if its a game or 2. He needs to improve at a pretty quick rate unfortunately because of the other young kids coming up. Once they are all there on the cusp, if he isnt above, and has tasted the NHL yet, itll be a hell of a lot harder to be the guy to get the call. Love the kid though, excited to watch him tonight

Wouldn’t change trudeau-reinbacher, they were good.

I guess struble-mailloux
I think I'm good either way. I actually woudn't mind seeing Reinbacher with Struble who plays a different game than Trudeau at the same time Trudeau might be a better communicator for Mailloux.

Is he coaching anywhere? He didn't last long in the Ducks system
He's with Tampa. But not sure how long it will last. They say he's good judge of talent but difficult to work with. Some don't want to work with him.

I don't know if he's good judge of talent or just knows the right people. Bouchard been everything in junior hockey. He's former owner, coached, played 4 years junior, 2 years with Canada's national junior team, general manager. There's nobody around junior hockey who doesn't know Joel Bouchard

I was somewhat surprised that 18 y/o Reinbacher looked so much better than Logan Mailloux yesterday though, considering DR is not as comfortable on the smaller ice surface as LM. Logan realized yesterday that being a 20 y/o dominating 17/18 year olds in the OHL is not the same as the competition he faced last night.
LM needs at minimum 1 full season in Laval, maybe 2.

Why do people keep saying that the organization raised expectations with Mailloux?

From what I see, this is typical Habs fans/media, raising expectations themselves to a level the player himself isn't ready for, and then taking it out on him.

Mailkoux has played exactly ZERO minutes of pro hockey and really, hasn't played much junior hockey.

He looks exactly how he should look.

Bouillon keeps saying he's NHL ready and arguably our best prospect.

It's idiotic to think that but it's more idiotic to say it.

It's just his opinion though and it shouldn't be held as the entire organization’s take, he really has no say in who makes the team.

Either way, the takes after one meaningless game are insane but also not surprising in this market.

Are the the comments Bouillon made that everyone is talking about?

Doesnt sound like he thinks hes ready for the NHL just yet.

Logan Mailloux play better than yesterday. The only thing he needs, it's playing games. It's normal for a player like him who don't play so much in junior need to play more, more and more than anyone else. People don't know how it's hard to lose 1 year of hockey, development. Keep it up Logan ! I believe in you 😉

Maybe we misinterpreted the “no-brainer” comment :sarcasm:
