That's cool and all, Stu but the Canadiens staff responsible for that decision are all gone.

The new group have been handling this situation the correct way and should not pay for the sins of the past regime.
If Bettman didn't want the kid drafted he could've banned him from the draft or send a letter to all the teams in the league to not draft him.

Stu just spewing nonsense.

HuGo is building a stout defence that appears to be big, fast, mobile, accurate & tuff. I‘d really like to see Mailloux paired with Xhekaj. Barron & Guhle have an obvious chemistry and “wow” if Hutson & Reinbacher push to be a top pairing. This group has a 10-12 year potential. Cheers
Mailloux and Xhekaj will be a scary duo!

Great news for the kid, if true. Here's to him keeping on the straight and narrow going forward. Life doesn't always give you a second chance, you gotta make the most of it kiddo.
Nickname will be "The Predator".

"Here's to him keeping on the straight and narrow"?

Seriously? Any doubt of that? One time incident where he got hit big time as a young offender. Absolutely no history of repeat stupidities from the kid.

OVERBLOWN.

I mean it in the literal sense. He'll probably stay under a microscope for a long while, even running a red light might get him in trouble career wise. He needs to be an absolute model citizen . It is what it is.

now keep him in Laval for atleast a year

Being cleared also means he can play preseason games. Because if he wasn't, I imagine he wouldn't be allowed to play in the preseason. So while I agree that Laval all year would probably be the best scenario. At least we can watch him play some games, even if they're preseason games.

No way the great Chris Wideman goes to Laval. That's blasphemy. He should be quarterbacking Habs first PP wave. That's where he belongs.

With his lack of OHL games due to injury, it's a no-brainer to keep him in Laval for a long while.
The D needs to take a huge leap. It’s not all awful on that side of things but it still needs a lot of work.

It’s exciting to get that absurd shot he has closer to the Habs.

There would’ve been a time not too long ago where we’d be hoping this kid would be a saviour of sorts. But the fact we got Guhle, Hutson, Reinbacher and Engstrom along with a couple others; there’s going to be a lot less pressure on him. We’ll have the luxury of playing him with a stud D who can cover for him. That’s even more exciting.

Was not a fan of the pick due to his stupidity and also his lack of actual games before the draft. I am glad he has learned from his mistake and I hope he is truly sorry for it and will now get a chance to move forward with his hockey career.

I was going to post something completely similar btw, in that I consider our future on D to be ridiculously stacked (if they all hit But even if just 2-3 hit, it's major)
But I look at the future core D and consider it stacked even WITHOUT Mailloux in the mix lol with Guhle, Hutson, Reinbacher, Engstrom and to a certain degree Barron

If this kid Mailloux somehow becomes anything remotely close to a Brent Burns I mean, holy hell will our D be the envy of the league, it would be a complete bonus.
I mean GMs are still fuming about missing out on just Xhekaj lol and if all goes well D core wise then it would mean Arber is a bottom pair D for us lol
