  • We're expeting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
I think the amount of eyes watching today’s presser will more than those that catch the Jets/MTL game.

Just read HFBoards. The obsession is real my friends. And yes we are the centre of the universes.

(thanks for the free parking folks).

The playoffs are tough battles. When you look down the Leafs roster there are a few guys you can pick that will battle every game and be counted on:

Brodie
Campbell
Muzzin
Hyman
Spezza
Damaged goods Simmonds

That's not even one third of your roster!

I excluded Tavares and Foligno because they were out.

I thought Rielly and Kerfoot at least showed some sense of urgency out there, and you didn't name Nylander who was our best player by a country mile in the series.

Kerfoot can make that list. None of our skilled guys bring it full tilt. I'm sorry I have to come to that conclusion but it is what it is.

Nylander was the best player on either team, not sure how you can't include him.

I agree with you as far as Matthews and Marner go, they were abysmal and I simply cannot watch this team again until there are significant changes.

Unfortunately we are going to have to ride this out.
Last year the Shanahan narrative was being ready to play with playoff mentality.
Throw that out the window.

This year it’s killer instinct.
These guys don’t have a killer instinct and that’s where you need it. The core. Not Joe third line.
We are headed for the same result next summer.
Shanahan’s going to need a thesaurus to find more ways of saying the Leafs suck.......

If Shanny is saying that you can't teach killer instinct, that means our guys don't have it and we're in deep shit. But then he says that the top guys are not going anywhere, so what's the plan?

When I watch the games, I don't look at just stats. This series he played better but still has the fear factor. The moment someone starts getting in his grill, he will turn into Houdini. They get scared, then they shy away and their intensity drops. See when Mathews was getting pushed around and he is smiling. Anyone that has a little fire in him and shuts off that fear switch has a different reaction and will make it clear to the opposing player to stay in their zone.

Man's a walking contradiction. He has to be the most charismatic man MLSE ever met for him to still be employed and allowed to represent the leafs.

Guy is an absolute clown who escapes criticism for the teams failure.

We are going onto year 8 of the Shanahan Era. Whatever the heck the Shanaplan was its long dead now

For better or for worse the front office has picked a path forward for the offseason.

On the positive side it reduces any uncertainty. They know the small group of players they're going to bet their jobs on, and can build a strategy of trades/signings and expansion prep around that. Going into the offseason with a "we'll see" stance always leads to unease - such as the strange will he stay or go dance they did with Andersen this past off-season.

Disagree. I seen a lot more passion out of Nylander this year, he was out there laying hits, going to the dirty areas while Marner was the one who genuinely disgusted me with his fear filled antics out there.

I can't see myself watching this team next season unless there are season changes to this loser core. We will never get a weaker first round opponent then Montreal, they aren't even a true playoff team under normal circumstances and these losers still blew it.

And 4 of the NHL's top 5 scorers are watching.

I wonder if there is anything to learn there?

The question is if that’s an anomaly or does it always happen? How often do the top 5 scorers get bounced in the first round?

I don’t know how to find that data
