No he didn't, again we are talking about 88 not 16. Do y'all have eyes?

Both scared. Yes, 88 had good stats this series and created some room. Don't fool yourself. Sooner or later they will run into a tougher matchup or less space and time and they won't dig in.

This is from watching 5 series with the same tendencies.

Get it all out of your system. Go on. Vomit it up. You'll feel better.

The only time this team gets angry, wants to push back, get in your face is when they have to answer questions about why they always lose.
Maybe think about that.
Money, it's a hit
Don't give me any of do goody good bullshit.
Money
It's a gas
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off my stack.

I think this year is different on terms of fan reaction. People have just had enough and everyone should expect more. This is the TML wear that fn jersey with pride. Asking for at the very least to have this team go down fighting - it’s not a big ask

I'm a firm believer that success breeds success.

In a study that uses website-based experiments to uncover whether “success breeds success” is a reality, researchers found that early success bestowed on individuals produced significant increases in subsequent rates of success. ...

When you learn how to fight through adversity, and overcome obstacles, it builds confidence and that success carries forward into a belief that you can rather then you can't be successful the next time this arises.

Our Leafs young core are now 0-5 in 5 consecutive playoff appearances, and its hard to find any supporting studies of " researchers found that early & often failure bestowed on individuals produced significant increases in subsequent rates of success.

This team needs to learn how to win by winning, and not learn how to win by failing and apologizing.
What apologizing? I haven't heard one.

I like how you didn’t include the best player in the series

Yes look what Willie shows what he can do when you actually play him. What on earth made 16:36 TOI seem like a good idea this regular season?

I would not give Hyman a gold star for 1 goal in 7 games though. The last time he was that bad it was against the Bruins and on one leg. To me Zach seems like a guy that is at playoff tempo throughout most of the regular season but then when the post season arrives, everyone is cranked up so he doesn't stand out the same way. I still love the guy as a player but when they are looking at $5M x ? this summer they need to remember that. Brandon Saad is a UFA too and he has 4 goals this playoff alone. Zach has 5 career in 32 games getting top line minutes. It will be interesting to see if Dubas gets bent over like his early deals or puts the screws to ZH as he has managed with more recent vets. I think that, given the fact he paid Brodie full retail in spite of the flat cap it won't be a particularly team friendly deal. I also think KD may be less concerned with term than in the past as he isn't worried about the next GM's problems.

You can't blame a poor family for trying to get MAX $$$ especially after they struggled mightily financially as a family to get their kid to da show .. you will see it is a completely different situation for a wealthy family like Hyman's .. and then people will say oh well da Leaf GM did a great job getting a guy signed to a long term fair AAV deal .. when reality was it is a completely different situation
I usually like your post but this one is totally stupid. Marner could have "settled" for 8 million AAV or even 5 million AAV and he woulda made more money in ONE YEAR than most families make in a lifetime. Same for Matthews.

Matthews pissed me off today. He’s smug face and smirks at facing legitimate questions was so disrespectful. Calling outside opinions and comments noise and just dismissing anybody outside the room that dares have a comment.

Well guess what jackass we pay your salary, buy your jerseys, buy tickets and buy your hockey cards. I wouldn’t trade Marner, I would trade Pig nose for an elite D and bunch of picks or prospects. Let Tavares play top line and find some people that care. He’s leaving anyways in 4 years trade his ass now.

I'm gonna be the odd one out here, but it blows my mind how many people want to blow this team up after it's so close to being well rounded.

Theoretically this was one of the best leafs teams ever assembled, and the vast majority loved this team. 2 weeks later, "blow up the core, fire everyone!"

Thank goodness Dubas and Shanny have more common sense than some of the bipolar baboons on here. It sucks, I get it but this is a work in progress.

We aren't the first developing team to be eliminated in short order a couple times. (Tampa, Colorado, Washington) and non of the others made wholesale changes.

I haven't read any posts suggesting to blow up the entire core. We do have many great pieces already in place. But the fact of the matter is that Dubas or any other GM will be completely hamstrung from making a tangible difference to this club's ability to get the job done in the playoffs as long as 50% of our salary cap is allocated to 4 forwards. It's never been done before for good reason, and our management group seems hell bent on trying to reinvent the wheel.

This is truly the first time within this management regime that I've lacked the confidence in them to fix the problem.

I understand a press conference is a PC show and they're all going to support eachother.

I'll reserve judgment until the beginning of the season to see who and what they move out and bring in, but if there isn't substantial change, I honestly don't know how much I'm going to watch.

Doesn't look like there will be at this point in time.

Will always want them to succeed, but nothing other than getting it done in the playoffs matters.

I think being up 3-1.
And the fact that AM and Marner combined to have less goals than Muzzin.
Add to the fact that it was the Habs and Price was okay but not great.
Fans just ran out of excuse to give to the boys.
People can't use JT was injured b/c they won THREE games without him.
The defence between Dermott and Sandin cough up was good enough to win, Habs only scored 4 goals in the first 4 games.
The depth of the team scored plenty of goals.

I would still keep Marner and trade Mathews and 88.
88 can fetch something nice. He has been playing great and good contract.

If they fold and cannot elevate their game when it matters - in fact appear they don’t even have the desire to go all out desperate hockey - first time ever I can’t watch again without changes. This team, this organization has made losing acceptable

LOL, come on. They made big changes and the team looked completely different.

If you don't believe in the core, that's fine. I guess you'll just have to tune out for a some time. Maybe root against the team.
Bro, all of your posts are busts. Stop posting.

And they've shown this loser mentality the past 5 years.

We've allocated the cap to our star players, and have created a financial model that does not support group success.

Maybe it's just simply a personality problem, with our core not having "killer instinct".

But when your $25 million dollar top line does nothing, it's not on the depth to step up.

And in fact, the depth is what kept us alive.

They have to see that. They must know, deep down what the problem is.

Im hoping they just aren't tipping their hats, and we see a major move or two before September.

Otherwise, what's the point?
