Shanahan on the big four: "Any team in the league would love to have any one of them. But we want them, we like them, we want to keep them here."

**** me.
Did you actually expect them to say they're dumping the big 4? The answer was actually more open than I expected

I have to be honest -- Shanny sounds very calculated, serious and confident. Call me a sucker but I cannot argue with his presentation so far. One thing is for sure -- this core, GM and coach will be given another chance, and management will be aggressive in trying to surround them with solid pieces. Will it work? I'm not sure. I still think the club needs to be rebalanced.

That was one of the only times I liked a question from Simmons. Shanahan saying fluff stuff, why the hell do we have confidence in "we will get it done" when the management group and him have no history of getting it done?

These media availabilities make me realize that there are three sides, the fans, the team and the media.

Two sides are aligned in what they want. The third is a group of ghouls and vultures, minus the beat reporters like Shilton and Masters.

These lock clean out press releases pissed me off almost as much as Monday's game did.

I actually can't bear... can't bear hearing them say all the precise same things all over again. I just can't take it.

Rest assured it will be tinkering around the edges, with Rielly being moved and the country club atmosphere will continue.

I hate Steve Simmons but good for pushing back on some of these answers.

we need answers and not some generic PR answers.

What exactly did he prove with this nonsense?

No team lost 5 1st rounds. That's a very specific and pointless context. The ultimate goal means anything less doesn't matter.

Shanahan emphasizing the need to have that "killer instinct" on the roster, adding that it will come either internally or externally.

Wonder how they manage to find players or get players that have that "killer instinct"

The point hes trying to make is taking away their "oh the caps failed X amount of times, etc, etc" bullshit lines they cling to explain this disaster.

Shanahan is not even trying to offer an explanation. His message has just been 'we will keep working at it and won't be stupid because people are angry'.

He hasn't made a single excuse for the loss.

Im glad he made that specific comment. So in october people can ask him "which one of these 700K players brought in to surround your golden boys have brought the killer instinct?"
