Anyone have what Friedman said word-for-word.
"One of the things that was discussed in the past couple of days is 'would Ullmark sign an extension in Boston [pretty sure he misspoke and meant to say Ottawa here]. Now he can't officially do it until July 1st, but as it stands right now the expectation is he is prepared to play out the year and see how things go before committing to doing anything. We'll see if that changes over the next little while, but as it stands right now the belief is that there is going to be no extension in place in July and Ullmark will play it out".

So is Bruce just Brucing when he said he’s looking for north of 6 mil and both sides are discussing an extension?

Read between the lines it’s very clear he WILL immediately sign an extension!

Elliotte > Bruce

This is Bruce with his league executives buddies that feed him info for his columns

Beats me. He was probably just reporting all the buzz about the extension being the holdup, which was probably not true. In his most recent article he's now saying there have been no formal talks with Ullmark's agent.

During his radio hits over the past few days, Friedman has been sort of implying that the problem might be Ullmark's willingness to sign with Ottawa at all, which is consistent with what he reported on live TV tonight.

He did waive his NTC for Ottawa. I guess so he can be given the starting role?

It’s still a pretty risky move for him and the agent to take for a 31 year old goalie. There’s always the risk something can go wrong with the team and his numbers dip.

Brady-Tim-Giroux
Greig - Norris - Bath
Crookshank- Pinto - ???
Kelly - ??? - kachouk
Macewen

Is this roughly what our forward group looks like so far?

Assuming josh is healthy, will greig play middle six LW or 4C?

It would be a really odd move for a goalie to waive their NTC to go in a contract year to a team notorious for making goalies look bad and be unwilling to sign an extension.

It is extremely risky, so it could all just be posturing to get every dollar he can.

Glad we kept Forsberg. I think he is a good goalie, and if Ullmark is as advertised, we will have one of the best tandems in the league.
Just about to say the same thing.

One of the things this organization failed at was in giving Forsberg a fair shake. He's been our best goaltender since he got here, and we kept on sabotaging him with more and more goalie acquisitions.

Well... we are still doing it I suppose, but this time we are sabotaging him with a Vezina winner. Understandable.
