That's why I am not shocked at all that Lindy was the guy Adams was talking about.

Veteran coach. Available. And Adams has a track record with him.

Press: When did you first talk to Lindy
Adams: This was my decision.....MY DECISION YOU HEAR ME?
Ruff: Terry has been texting me "Baby come back" and sending me flowers for 6 weeks now

Not to mention the guy still lives in Buffalo. Played for the org and already coached for the team...

I also like what Fairburn said last week that Ruff could be that bridge to help bring back fellow alumni to the organization.

People may not like it, but he makes the most sense

Early predictions:

Lindy's favorite: Dylan Cozens
Lindy's doghouse: Jeff Skinner
4th line player stapled in the top 6 forwards for reasons: Greenway
Id go

Favorite: Cozens
Doghouse: Peterka
4th Line: Krebs

Greenway can play a top 9 role just fine. Skinner tends to have good years with new coaches. It's the second and third season I'm worried about with him

The latter I think yes. The former…there are some circles who believe Peca has no interest in the organization anymore. According to some reporters on their various podcasts He had to beg them for the Amerks job in the first place and then Don didn’t want him on the bench or he’d have been on the bench. But then other reporters brought it up as something they’d try to do…so who knows.
Peca is almost everything the sabres/pegulas appear to be trying to do with hockey development in buffalo with the jr sabres and the harbor center

The guy was coaching for the development programs for years. They should be developing kids/players but also coaches

I'd bet James Patrick is back. Makes too much sense.

Anyone know Lindys assistants were in Jersey and Dallas?

That was 2022-23 in NJ.

James Patrick and Curt Fraser all four seasons in Dallas.

Chris Taylor all four seasons in Jersey. Two seasons of Mark Recchi and two seasons of Ryan McGill. Two seasons of Sergei Brylin. One season each for Rick Kowalsky and Alain Nasreddine.

James Patrick and Chris Taylor would both make sense given prior history with the organization. I could see a scenario where Appert is moved to Sabres assistant and Taylor takes back over in Roch.

Nasreddine, Taylor and Dr. Recchi the year prior to Brunette. Nasreddine is on DeBoer's staff in Dallas now.

Patrick and Curt Fraser were his assistants the last year in Dallas.

This might be just what they need. And I love Lindy. But man... it sure doesn't seem like they did a very exhaustive search.
Adams literally said he knows exactly what he wants and wants it done quickly. There was never going to be an exhaustive search.

I agree with this guy on the main threads.

"As I went through the hiring process, it quickly became clear Lindy was the person for the job.

"But you didn't go through the process. You barely waited for the season to end before running back to warm and comfortable.
