Lindy Ruff has been fired

I feel like the scene in Armageddon, when the planet was saved. I simply cannot contain my enthusiasm! Calling people I havent talked to in 15 yrs to tell them the good news. If it were not a$$ crack cold outside, I would take to the streets with pots and pans.

LOL....

Lindy Ruff gets fired and we are all forced to look in the mirror and realize how much older we are since he was hired.

LOL. I have dreamed of this day

You think so? You don't think it would be weird to hire him for three months and then send him back down to Rochester?
Hopefully they send him out the door.
If he chooses to go back to Rochester even though he's not coaching, that's his choice.

Not even remotely.

Assuming he does get the call and he doesn't get outright let go after the season so the new HC can help pick a coach for the AHL that installs a different system.

I have a great deal of respect for Lindy the person, as he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I also think that he's a great coach that I'll root for moving forward. However, as a Sabres fan, this is the best news I've heard in a long time!

It's time to get a coach strong in working with a younger team and do a mini-rebuild before it is too late and the Sabres have to blow up the team. I'm not saying promote from within but a successful Junior coach or AHL coach is really the route to go. Time to strengthen and develop. I still believe Myers has been hurt by a "Oh look he's so fantastic he won the Calder so there is no need to develop him further" attitude.

A developing coach is the first step, trading for younger talent is the second. If Buffalo handles this correctly, I think they can bounce back in a year or two. If they don't they could have to really blow things up Edmonton/Colorado style. (I'd say NYI style but they are not just blown up, they are in a nuclear winter)

Since no one else has mentioned it...

What's Lindy's new organizational title going to be?

lol

Being a Buffalo sports fan I just can't help but worry that their wont be an interim coach and they'll hire Rolston outright.

"Senior Advisor", probably.

99% likely they keep him for the time being because of his existing contract.
