Why? He could just as easily get a job as a HC elsewhere and I am positive that Terry would let him.
Because coaches are retained on contracts by organizations, even if they're not wanted anymore, until they get a new job or the contract expires.

Apparently two TV reports saying Ron Rolston has left Rochester for Buffalo. Looks like Ron?

Hmmmmmmmmm

Yeah usually because they are owed money the owners want to get value out of it.

They respect Lindy too much and have too much money to pull that, unless it's what Lindy wants.

If anyone is interested in my opinion, I was open to the idea that Ruff could be successful with this team, right up until I was watching the opener and Maguire mentioned that they were planning on playing Miller about 36-38 games a couple days after Regier said that "Ruff can change." (though I have been ready to move on for about two years, I was still holding out some up on him).

Won't trash him on the way out but obviously this needed to happen. Was with a student who's an Avs fan when it happened. When I mentioned that he was fired after practice her comment was that it sounded like a bad breakup. Sounds about right.

I know Ruff was long past his time but this shocks me. Guy was an amazing coach in his prime and a part of me will miss him and hope he maintains a job with Buffalo, guy seems to love and cherish that organization.

Getting away from Regier is the best thing that will ever happen to Ruff. I honestly think he'll win a Cup, go down as one of the three winningest coaches in NHL history, and eventually make the Hall of Fame. Very sad that the Cup won't be in Buffalo.

Holy smokes! I just got back from lunch to see this. Wow. I was a big Lindy supporter for longer than most, but I finally conceded his time was up in the middle of last season. Thanks, Lindy, but your time was done. Over done.

Holy crap! It's just not going to feel the same playing you guys without Lindy's mug behind the bench, but it was time.
