Ducks trade
lindholm (jets give him the contract he wants)
stoner (clears room to keep fowler)

this buys the ducks 2 years to get past the bieksa deal, saving them money in the meantime and gaining a young and capable NHL proven RIGHT handed D man.

Picking up the dead weight of a stoner type deal is invaluable to the Ducks as they are already up against the cap and likely well over their internal cap.

Could the ducks get more for Lindholm all things being equal? Sure. But this is also a business and money must be a factor (and very few teams can offer a comparable player AND take on salary)... In this new NHL you get Lawson Crouse for cap space...

The Ducks do not need Trouba, even if for some reason they opt to trade Lindholm. They would still be better off moving him for a young forward. The only thing different is that their new fallback position would switch to Fowler, Vatanen, Manson, and the kids as opposed to Lindholm, one of Fowler or Vatanen, Manson, and the kids.

Historically, teams that have several years of high draft picks improve overnight in an NHL season...go from bad to good in a heartbeat.
i.e. 80's Oilers, 70's Islanders, Penguins, Avalanche etc.

So it is your assertion, as a supposed 'stats guy' that the most recent 6 game sample is more important than the previous 100+ games we've seen from these two players.

I have seen him in junior and seen him play his 3 games in the NHL. He will be pretty good but is not ready for NHL.

His ceiling is top pair, Two-way D with toughness.

But i will return your question: Do you know anything about Lindholm??

If you do, you already know everything Sergachev might become, Lindholm actually is. Sergachev ceiling is Lindholm.
