I think Strome, instead of slowing things down, panics and does the opposite in those open net situations. If he had just slowed it down, he could've reached back and whip the puck in. Where he parked was fine, the Copp pass was a good pass, just a little behind Strome, but again, he doesn't know how to slow a play down. Some people have it, ice-cold veins, but some don't.
I thought Strome glided a bit too far down. He took himself out of position for a pass just enough to turn it from an easy put in to a rather difficult one. Copp had to pass it backwards just enough to make sure it had a chance to get through. Watching the replay, surprised it even made it through to begin with. Hockey can be a cruel game of inches sometimes. Tough one.

Rough game and series, but I never expected them to get this far, so not totally disappointed. 2015 still stings way more.

Good learning experience for the youngsters.

If this is a team that's evolving into a championship team, it's at the teenage stage of just learning to figure things out and discovering new abilities. The team has looked so bad and so uncoordinated so much of the time yet it has made it this far.

Disclaimer: I like Gallant. I think he's a fine coach. I don't want to fire him in outrage or anything like that.

But like 99% of NHL coaches are the same lol. You can usually end up gauging how a fanbase feels about their coach by looking at their goalie's save % haha.

Joe Burrow leads his team to the Super Bowl, Jason Tatum leading his team to a 2-1 lead in the NBA championship.

The NHL, " we have to play our youth as little as possible in fear of them making a mistake that much worse players can make."

And you wonder why no one watches this dopey league.

Brendan Shanahan jersey at Grand Central was the highlight of tonight’s game.

As someone who splits time between both places Lightning fans in Florida are actually going to be far more tolerable than Islanders fans in New York after we lose even with the Islanders having absolutely nothing to do with anything at this point.
Go check Twitter. They are already rubbing our faces in it pretty damn good.

I didn't know Igor's career was over after this season. That's really the best argument? Vezina favorite, Hart trophy finalist, and currently not even eliminated in the ECF in his 3rd season. Lundqvist sure never had any ECF losses on his resume, eh?

I guess you are commited to this whataboutism. We are talking about Igor here, Igor is our star goalie and best player. Is it ok to expect him to steal at least ONE game this playoffs?

And they don’t have that doubt that you know was creeping in to Carolina’s mind. And their goalie is good enough to prop them up which Pittsburgh didn’t have. We needed the split in Tampa. Up 2-0 in game three, losing that game was clearly the turning point. We had our boots on their throat and we eased up a little bit and let them up off the map. It sucks because it’s one thing to be completely outclassed and lose a series but a series like this was right there for the taking and we blew it just as much with our own mistakes as Tampa bouncing back and playing well. This really hurts because it was right there.
There's no such thing as momentum from game to game. Every game is a clean slate. The Rangers played their low event hockey like they did against Carolina tonight and it was a coin flip. They should have had more chances to score with at least 3 or 4 more power plays.

If the Rangers play like this Saturday, they will win.

Where did I say that?

It's what you're trying to convey by leaving out a few other details.

Yes, Henrik took this team to the finals.

Problem is when did he?

And at the end of the day, Henrik didn't have a 90 and 80 point and 50 goal scorer on his team like Shesty does, and you're trying to lay the blame at his feet.

Shesterkin is the only reason we’re here he gave up 2 seeing eye pucks and Hank is the best goalie and arguably best Ranger of all time and you’re fighting over who is better or better in big spots I mean just stop with that nonsense, we’re lucky we’ve had both

I would argue Mika is the reason we are here.

At least it was asked.

Its a seed planted.

We're just going to have to live with this for as long as this run continues. Gallant is going to live and die by his veterans. I can see the media's second-guessing if the vets got small minutes, then it could become an even bigger public headache. With the kids, there's always that built-in "out" for why they're getting small minutes. Because they're kids, they're inexperienced, it's a learning year.

When is Panarin going to take over a game and get 4-5 points? I'm getting tired of this BULLSHIT

That's obvious. I've said it many times but icelanders fans are the ultimate losers. It has nothing to do with the success of the team either, it's a mindset. They could be the best team in the league and still act like a bunch of mongos.

Yup. And these youngsters never know when they'll get another shot. Tough to get this deep.

I'm really hoping that Kid Line develops into a legit line and Laf and Kakko become elite players.

I don't mind it now and then, just not every game.

The refs arbitrarily deciding this was the game where everything was legal didn't help.
getting pretty sick of this BS! it was an even tight game, but no calls on tampa? really? nothing?

There is no reason why this sport can't officiate consistently in the highest profile games of the season.

That's why this is the greatest sport, and also the 4th one.

I think next season is when the minutes will be redistributed more evenly, either with them as their own line or they each "graduate" to play among the top 6.
