i've watched the NYR for 28 yrs. The officiating will get me to stop. I expect this team to get better and better over the next few years. We have to beat the opponent AND the officiating.
The fix has been in since Game 3. Get Tampa their three peat. I don't believe for a second the NHL wants the Rangers in the Final over Tampa.

For better or worse, as long as Jimmy Dolan owns the team, the Rangers are never going to get the benefit of the doubt when he called the NHL out on their bullshit. Never.

So, you're absolutely right. The Rangers need to beat their opponents and the four striped skaters on the ice. The call on Miller was a joke. I don't even get mad about the clutching and grabbing and interference anymore. What burns me is the blantant hold by Rutta that was missed. The trip on Trouba in the first. I could go on...

He brought us there once in a 15 year career. Shesterkin brought the Rangers within two wins of there once in two full seasons. Lundqvist had to beat a flash in the pan Montreal team without Price not the two time defending champions.

So we are now at the stage where we minimize Hanks playoff career? We were beating Montreral with or without Price, in fact Hank had his most impressive series against Price a couple of years later and outplayed Price. How about winning against prime Ovie? Or prime Crosby? Not once, but MULTIPLE times.
Also, Igor has firepower in front of him that Hank would dream of.

Look, Last time. I think Igor is the best goalie in the league, He is a f***ing super star. Has he put this team on his back and stolen a game yet? No.

Copp drives play more than Strome. Strome is a loser and couldn't be off this team quicker. He compensates in every way possible on the ice and in the room to cover up the fact that he's a $3.5M 3C. Drury has impressed me so far, booting Strome regardless of what a great locker room guy he is will be a great move for Drury.

Mika guaranteed us a victory?
This is an obtuse response. I’m saying should we say that Mika isn’t Messier and criticize Mika for not coming through like he did? That’s an analogy to the Shesterkin-Lundqvist thing.

I don’t understand the Shesterkin-Lundqvist comparison, none of this is remotely on shesterkin and it’s insane as a fan to not appreciate your great players who are out there battling and coming up big night after night, carrying us to be one of the final 3 teams standing

In the regular season, Rangers get a power play late in the third, bury a goal. Win 2-1 or 3-1 with an empty net.

That was the standard all year long. Was set up for that tonight, but no call ever came, no matter what happened.

I also do not believe it was ref incompetence or “human error”. The little things, like icings, faceoff drops, quick whistles, offside calls, etc. ALL went against the Rangers.

Had Strome scored, Trouba or Lindgren would have been sent off for something immediately after.
you're right. i've been seeing this script this whole playoffs. Game 3 was nothing but make up calls for Tampa.

They were looking at going down 3 games, and here we are with the Rangers dropping 3 straight!

Bottom line, the Rangers played like ASS in game 4, and they were just "good" tonight.

You're not winning playoff game with Ryan Lindgren as your only scorer.

The best players for the Rangers have been absent. There's no one else who can score.

Well, when our team relearns to park their asses in the crease, not passing or coughing up the puck but taking shots, and when the Lightning players start parting like the Red Sea to allow one of our defesnemen to come closer with their shot attemps like the Rangers have been doing for the Lightning, then I can equivocally say that Vasi did indeed steal a game.

Ok.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy.

Sure. Whatever.

I love Igor, and he's a great goalie. He has had one of the best seasons, and he is the reason why we are here. It's sad to see this team revert back to their pre-trade deadline days of mediocre 5vs5 play. We all know these things. That said, he still should not be compared to Lundqvist. Igor's not better than one of the greatest Rangers of all time (greatest, IMO). Lundqvist was a monster in the playoffs. Too bad his teams couldn't score more than two goals a game. It sure felt like that.

If Igor does this for a few more years, then we might have a conversation.

I mean, Mika is a big part of it, but Shesterkin is the Team MVP, he had an historic season and aside from Games 3-4 against pitt, has been lights out all playoffs. He’s a huge reason we are here if not the reason. Mika has also done nothing Games 3-5, should we turn on him and compare him to Messier?

Team MVP in the regular season. Not even close post season. Mika has been awful last 2 games. Not denying that.

He’s stolen a few.

Which ones?

Absolutely. makes me sick. 82g season, the biggest games the sport has, and you can't get consistent officiating from game to game.

He was baby shit soft tonight. Not skating well or fighting through checks. This is not the night to defend his play.
Im defending the fact that he hasn't disappeared in these playoffs and has produced at a decent rate and scored some big goals. Tampa does not allow a lot of players to do a lot of things because they defend very well.

The Rangers have 3 goals, 1 at five on five in their last 3 games.

I was just joking.

However, the first line has been invisible since Game 2. Yes, Mika got 2 points on the PP during Game 3, but 5v5? I think the Panarin line has created better chances, and that's actually sad considering Panarin has been guilty of coughing up the puck.

Still no excuse for not finishing his checks or moving his legs. He has not been good the past few games.

It’s a simple philosophy that Tampa has and the Rangers never do. Their d take a step to the middle and just throw it on net looking for deflections or bounces or as you saw tonight seeing eye shots that go in. The Rangers d always seem to stay more towards the boards and do that intentional shot that goes wide. You gotta make FATSilevsky earn it

Off the top of my head, Game 3 against Carolina for sure.

You're acting like he has been worse in the playoffs than he was in the regular season. He just continued chugging along at the same pace. Not sure what you're expecting from him. And make no mistake, he is the Team MVP. There is no qualifier to that, he's the most important and best player on the team and is 99% of nights. There's no need to compare him to Hank though, at all. Hank never even won, so it's a weird comparison. We are lucky we had Hank, his number hangs in the rafters, and we are lucky we transitioned right to Igor without some dead years in between. If they lose you blame Igor? That's just insane to me.

Said it after Game 4 too, but it bears repeating.

The last three games come down to Tampa's big guns being better than ours. Where have Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, and Fox been since period 3 of Game 3 while Palat (I hate that motherf***er), Stamkos, and Kucherov have been filling the net.

The top 6 and Fox need to be factors on Saturday to keep the season alive. Shesterkin will also need to shut the door and allow no more than one goal. Score three and win on Saturday. That's the mantra.

5 v 5 has plagued us for quite sometime

FACEOFFs have plagued us for quite sometime …

Both have destroyed our playoffs lasting power … we’ve given away goals and games .
