Dont be like this. I know you love to play the contrarian part on these boards but even you understand that no matter how many flashy saves Igor has he comes short when it really matters. He cant lock it down. Period.

he's undefeated in elimination games

Open things up....2 on 1 the other way, goal, everyone posts that the season is over. Sounds fun!
or sure play another 0-0 or 1-1 game and allow them to get countless point shots in final 5 min that will eventually bounce into the net while we can't even exit our zone. Plus we gave up enough odd man rushes tonight anyway.

I’m a contrarian for defending… Igor Shesterkin? 🤨😂 he’s got a .929SV% in the playoffs

Wtf does this even mean? Using your strengths offensively and playing proper defense is too much to ask? That means we are expecting him to be Eric Lindros? Who isnt a comparable at all anyway… the f*** you talking about guy??
Chris Kreider is who he is.

He's second all-time in goals in elimination games. Nobody in Rangers history has more goals in the playoffs or game winning goals in the playoffs. He'll go down as the second most prolific goal-scorer in Ranger history.

If you're still expecting more after ten seasons, it's on you.

Only cause Trouba is a weirdo.

What a terrible game for Vatrano. He's been terrible for a while but somehow kind of flies under the radar with his terribleness. Vatrano is to Gallant what Howden was to Quinn. They both played well for the first ten games or so under their new coach and essentially achieved inception by planting the idea that they are much better players than they actually are.

I can't do another year of Strome and Panarin. I didn't think they were terribly bad tonight and if Strome is pretty much anyone else other than Strome Panarin is on ESPN's highlight reel plays tonight for that first pass. However, I just can't do another year of watching the two of them on the ice for 20 minutes a night for my favorite team. I might just become a baseball fan and give up hockey altogether if that's what this team is going to be.

It's countered with having Ryan Strome and an open net. He scores, Rangers win, Igor "steals" the game like you're all desperate for and is one win away from the magical SCF that Lundqvist made one time in his career despite apparently never getting beat for goals.

Or you know, he lets in a back breaker in the dying seconds of the 3rd like the other night.

Valiquette tweeted after game 2 something like “I can’t see Tampa beating Igor 4 out of 5 games” and I thought that was a stupid thing to tweet. All Tampa had to do was beat him once. Then they get another chance and beat him again. And then again. And again. Who cares if it’s 4 in a row? Every game is it’s own thing, that attitude was so stupid. It’s one game at a time. All Tampa needed to do was beat him one game at a time which was obviously entirely possible. That’s also aside from the fact that Tampa has a goalie as good or better than Igor.

I still think your Boys can even up this Series though. Yes, I’m a hopeless optimist, so take my thoughts for what they’re worth.

I think Strome, instead of slowing things down, panics and does the opposite in those open net situations. If he had just slowed it down, he could've reached back and whip the puck in. Where he parked was fine, the Copp pass was a good pass, just a little behind Strome, but again, he doesn't know how to slow a play down. Some people have it, ice-cold veins, but some don't.

And he has 10 goals and 16 points these playoffs.

Expecting him to come up with a big play defensively late in Games 3 and 5…is on me??? Yes i guess its crazy to expect the guy who has been here for the 11 years to do what it takes to win an ECF game, or at the very least not be the reason for a loss. Crazy i tell you.

Are you trying to tell me that a guy who didn’t go below 900 SV% in every game this play offs except two and whose average SV% is .930 and whose expected goals against rate breaking every record never stole a game ? Stop embarrassing yourself

He went sub 900 twice this playoffs. Get your facts straight clown.

And it's not the first time that has happened to him. That really was the game right there. I'm sick.

I don’t understand why Gallant doesn’t cycle in Lafreniere and Kakko onto Mika’s line when Vatrano is clearly playing terribly. Lafreniere is flying out there, how about moving him into that spot? You’re not using the kid line enough as it is, why not move them all around the lineup here and there to try and throw different looks at Tampa and disrupt their matchup game?

So is Mark Messier walking through that door or what? Does this team have anyone who is going to step up to lead this team to a win bs Tampa? They did it vs Pitt and Carolina but Tampa is (clearly) a different beast.

They're a veteran group. They don't panic. They don't flub the puck, they just collect the puck and move it out of their zone.
