Dude is a replaceable fourth liner. I know people like to cite that "he has only played XX games" but there's a reason for that, which is other than skating fast and giving a good effort he's not particularly good at anything. I know he has scored at the junior and AHL level, but the guy is f***ing incapable of scoring in the NHL (and he doesn't really generate for anyone else).

It's a small sample size, but the argument is that he will regress to the mean and start to produce more. He *should* have 5 more goals than he does now. It's not an exact science but he's getting high danger chances. If the sample size continues to grow and he continues down this same path then I'd agree with you, but for now, I'm waiting to see.

And you don't find that the conversations lose some coherence then?

I'm genuinely curious. I don't really enjoy reading threads anymore, and I think I'm going to 'clean up' what I'm seeing, a bit.

I see it as a clean up filter myself. No problem following at all, just occasionally it looks funny when someone talks to themselves seemingly. I have 4 or so on ignore on this board, amazing how far it goes to cleaning it up.

Most of those players are aging or old …
Gauthier caufield huge concerns

Awww you have trouble discussing facts ?
Strike a nerve ?
You gonna ignore me like the other simpletons?
Hughes has 14 pts 15 gp 8 goals
Lafrenniere has 7 goals in 33

Major concern
Simpleton, nice response
Talk to me in 5 years and let’s see where Laf and Kakko’s careers are and how they have become complete players, while the great Jackie Hughes puts up points as his team continues to miss the playoffs but at least Jackie is putting up points
Hockey is the ultimate team game not a game just generated on stats alone.
There is a lot of the game that DOESN’T show up on the stat sheet but leads to the win. I would rather have that complete player than the guy who puts up 85 points but doesn’t do anything else

This team with and without Panarin are two completely different things. Zibanejad getting his spot on the PP turns him into a decisive attacking player. Strome shoots, Hunt sticks with a simpler game. More ice time for the 20-93-24 line and the kids line. I don't know what the solution is but the pieces are there.

Nah dude this is a 1 overall …

He’s approaching the bust label around the nhl
At 20 years old and just over one full season worth of games played? Give me a break dude. There’s reason to be underwhelmed about his progress so far but he’s not a bust.

And Jack Hughes looking good for New Jersey has literally nothing to do with Lafreniere. Idk why anyone cares about Hughes who we never had a chance of drafting. And all the crowing about how dynamic he looks his numbers are marginally better than Kakko’s with Hughes getting 1C usage and PP1 time. Lafreniere (and Kakko for that matter) have gotten historically low usage for picks of their caliber. Most players chosen first or second overall step onto bad teams where they get PP1 usage and top 6 minutes. Kakko and Laf have gotten 3rd line minutes and mop up PP minutes if anything at all.

Easiest type of game recap to watch. Lovely. Love to see Zibanejad heating up. Would be nice to see something from Chytil. I still think he’s got the tools and will produce.

I’m all for patience- I just don’t see anything 1 overall worthy yet - do you ?
Are you not a little more than concerned?

What makes you so sure the devils won’t make playoffs year after year ?
They have some real nice players .

A number one overall stats matter bigly …

You would love that , wouldn’t you ???
When it comes to Laff and Kakko, we are already seeing signs of them playing a complete game. Every player matures at their own rate and sometimes the filling of the net is the last thing they mature on
But if you want to grade a player on stats alone, then that’s your opinion to do so
