Kreider and Zib played great.

But we got huge contributions from a bunch of the kids. Igor, Miller, Laf played key roles. Jones, Lundkvist and Gauthier all had good games.

I love that Laf was given shifts at the end of the game and even some PK time. He deserved it. He played a complete game even if he didn't end up on the scoresheet. He is gaining GG's trust which should lead to more TOI. He's playing a reliable game and he's finally moving his legs every shift and in fact being one of the most impactful forwards on his line in all zones. Good stuff. Hope he can keep it up.
Agreed. That's the remedy for him I think. I don't care about his points now, he just needs to learn how to be successful on the ice. Exactly the same journey as Kakko. The points will eventually come, they're way too talented not to.

I think it's great for them because this will make them more complete players in the end run.

Has anybody else noticed this? Whenever Hunt moves back to the 4th line with Reavo and McKegg, he is very noticeable with excellent board work. But when paired with any other line, he's more or less invisible?

It's no wonder Hunt has been moved up, because he really does showcase his talent on that 4th line. Unfortunately, he doesn't do as well elsewhere.

If we ever get back to a full lineup, we should keep Hunt on that 4th line. Our 4th line has been one of our strengths this season. And Hunt has been a great contributor to the success of that line. And you can't say that about Hunt, on any other line he has played.

We need not to look at this as a demotion, but as strengthening one of the best lines we have.

Man it would be great to have like a 22 year old top 6 RW prospect we could slot into that top 6.

You know, if we hadn't been overly concerned about grit.

I don't think there was anyone who liked the moves Drury did in the offseason, in getting Hunt and Goodrow and giving up Buchnevich. But where would we be right now without the excellent play of our 4th line. Reavo has been a real joy to watch. Hunt and Goodrow play really well with him. And even Rooney has upped his play with the addition of Reavo.

Have you noticed lately, no defenders are willing to retrieve the puck beyond the goal line with Reavo in pursuit? They just willingly let Reavo pass them, to go in first and get the puck. As to not get crushed by him.

I don't think we ever had a player, that commanded that much respect before.

Ck used to be good on breakaways tho ... not sure what happened but i meant the old breakaway kreider. Maybe even Rick nash can work with him some.
Yes, and that is what Imeant as well. The early Kreids couldnt score on a breakaway if his life depended on it. Too fast.

Trade Trouba
I was an advocate of this LAST year, not now. He turned into what this team needed, and is the poster boy of toughness than the previous p***y assed defenses we've iced. Take away Trouba, then you just have Lindgren and question if he can stay on the ice with his wreckless abandon and pucks hitting him all the time.
Our defense has become pretty damned solid, and probably will get better with seasoning.

Then maybe im thinking later years? Last few years he hasn't been good but i thought before that he was. If only there was a YouTube of his breakaways lol

The team fell apart at the end of the year in large part to trouba not being there. This year he seems even more physical and is scoring at a 15 goal 40 point clip.

Honestly, I kind of forgot about that fact. Good point! We did fall apart when he got injured.
If I recall correctly, its not like he was playing GREAT, but obviously there was more to it than what was evident. Pairings got skewed and obviously was a huge missing piece.
Give credit where credit is due. k'Andre progressing very well, in large part due to Trouba and his professionalism.

I defended Trouba last year against all of you. I hope the crow tastes good.
