Why?

It was never even played?

Any team can beat any team in overtime?

Does overtime favor them in a 5 on 5 overtime? Probably

But I'd say we had a pretty good chance at winning a 5 on 5 OT, if we got some saves. Especially since we were the better team at 5 on 5.

I hated the goal right after our 5 on 3. Jack and Bratts 2 on 1 in the third period too. OT was funny, they never really held onto the puck. Playoff OT, I think some we lose on a glitch goal. We played better than game 1.

I think he is not 100% yet. He isn’t driving the net or the middle of the ice lately. He just seems off. Still lots of time for him to get back to beast mode.

We will see come playoffs. I don’t exactly hate him protecting himself a bit during this stretch.

The NJD just can't hang with the TBL. They've proved that much in these two games. Same thing will happen in Tampa. I firmly recommend @Bleedred take a night off from sobreity and hit the beer stands at that one. He's gonna need plenty of it. Definitely in Miami the night before. FLA smoked MTL tonight worse than the NJD have done to anybody at all this season. Must be nice to watch such a talented team, with a real head coach and a great goalie in Bob.

Vasi clearly let Timo score to tie it up late in regulation. If this were a playoff game TBL would have scored before 5 minutes in. If anything, the NJD survived longer than they would have in a real playoff game.

Don't expect too much more in FLA. The NJD treat these trips like a time for relaxation and fun in the sun, and not as business trips as they should be treated. Same thing with Zona and Vegas.

Rags also win.

Pitiful night on the out of town scoreboard.

You don't need the DD profile pic, I'm sure someone would've posted this on their own with how this board is with losses/losing.

Haven't lost 2 straight games since late December against Boston. Been basically 3 months since we've lost 2 in row, and it's against one of the best teams in the league.

Boston just dropped 2 in a row against the Wings and Blackhawks.

f***ing love this team lol.

Put Dougie out on the shootout. He can't do any worse and he's got a rocket for a shot.
I know we've put him in some and I think he may have scored one?

I have no complaints with tonight, as they at least used Rango and finally went to Boqvist, who I mistakenly thought was 2 for 3 before this. He was actually 2 for 5.

The guys we used last time were highly suspect, but we pulled out a win. I'd imagine that's the only reason Timo went tonight, who normally has not been a shootout guy and tonight was only his 6th attempt career.

I'm tired of Hughes in it, as he isn't that good and I have no f***ing clue how Nico has went 8 or 9 times and went 0 for. How many times does the guy gotta not score before you stop using him in the shootout?

So I had no problem with tonight's choices in the shootout.

Ugh I'm too invested to the point that a shootout L is really annoying me
I’m usually as frustrated as anyone but tbh I’m super pleased. The way they battled back in this one was awesome to see. They could have been dead in the water after allowing a goal on the first shift. Then again for sure after the post 5 on 3 goal. And again after the Stamkos PPG. They have seen the best goalie in the world the last two games, bc again, dialed in Vasi there is nobody better. And to find a way to get two in the third in a rally? Also, don’t underestimate the potential impact of Meier getting those two goals either.

Jack has been poor(ish) since returning from injury. It’s a shame for now but means he has a chance to rebound pre-playoffs and in the postseason

Getting the point was big. Basically kept ground. Carolina is about to hit a tough stretch in their schedule (Toronto twice, Rangers twice, Boston, and Tampa Bay) in the next week and half. So we will have a clearer picture of the division soon.
I still LOVE where we're at. 1 point back and played a solid game against TB we realistically should've won where we got a point.

Dougie had just been out for a 2 minute shift; I was glad to not see him or Hughes in the shootout. Use fresh players, and they did. Hard to win shootouts when the opposition scores on 2 of 3.
