This whole postseason has been an "on-the-job" learning experience in playoff hockey for this team. I was hoping for a long first round series (6 or 7 games) or "ideally" a trip to round two. I never expected them to learn this quickly. If they can take one of the next two games in TB, the next lesson on the docket is closing out a series (one of the tougher skills/mindsets for any team). Up to now, they've been learning via desperation hockey (down 3-1, down 2-0). Now that they are up in a series, it will be interesting to see how they respond to the pressure to close it out when the other team has its back against the wall. Excited to see how they do with it.

1. Fox
2. Zibanejad
3. I would say Miller before that second goal (not entirely his fault). Now, I’m throwing a vote to Motte who made so many little plays that end up being huge in a tight game

This was the first game of the playoffs where we looked like that dominant post-deadline team for the majority of the game. It’s crazy that we have gotten this far and we haven’t even played our best hockey.

Still angry about those chants. Every one of those mouth breathing idiots needs to be slapped.

Just chant Igor! Igor! And leave it at that. f***ing imbeciles.

The ONLY time it would be appropriate is when closing out a series.

Sick win, huge night overall. Let’s f***ing GO.
Who gives a f***, it's fans having fun. Jesus f***ing Christ I bet Vas is probably laughing at the chants under his mask.

OMG the horror fans having fun how dare they.

I'm still annoyed about their 2nd goal. Am I the only one who saw Maroon come in and shove K'AM out of the way so the TB puck carrier could have a clear line to the goal? How was that not interference?
There was a ton of that. Tampa would just grab a ranger when the attack came into their zone. Also the Panarin (?) break…I thought Hedman clearly slashed Panarin’s wrists so Panarin couldn’t lift the shot.

Only piping hot mac and cheese. To build character. And stamina.

holy f*** i got the like button back for once

made fun of too many cuck leafs fans on main board and my biggest punishment was removing the like button lmfao

the mac n cheese was great and im now chillin in a large whirlpool bath getting fed grapes by my son's babysitter

Kid's line gets my vote again. Every time they are on the ice, they are either defending well, or wreaking havoc in the other end. They have made GIANT steps. My god, I would have traded Chytil for a bag of pucks half way through the season. Now he's absolutely won me over. I don't care if he scores five goals in the regular season as long as we get this version of him when it matters from here on out.

Fox was looking Foxy again. Miller just keeps getting better and better. Shesty is basically god. Mika looks to be 100% finally. Man he's been good. It's There's just so many positives, and I don't even think we're playing to our full potential. Turk got f***ing ROBBED for the Jack Adams. This man is a miracle worker. Though I'd reaaaaaaaally like to see the kids get more ice time. They've earned it.

There's also negatives, though. Panarin is literally painful to watch 95% of the time. SO many dumb giveaways. No effort to backcheck. Kinda done with his shit, tbh. We're almost playing down a man when he's on the ice because of how defensively irresponsible he is. Honestly, I'd be fine trading him for some really promising younger players at this point.

Schneider needs to learn that you can't take 3-5 second to let a pass go. He gets dispossessed far too often. Still, he's young and learning the ropes, so he gets a pass for now.

I think winning the next game will utterly deflate Tampa. I know every game has been "the most important game", but this next one REALLY is.
This was a very good post until the Panarin stuff. We're not trading him nor should we at this point either. Plus I actually think he's looked much better in these two games than he has at any point in the playoffs so far. Still not his normal self but he looks better.

This Ranger team is beyond being in their heads. Tampa is straight up rattled and know they don't have much or anything left in the tank to contain them. All those games may have finally caught up with them. Point being out certainly doesn't help them, but this Rangers team is just too fast, too big and too young for the wily vets of Tampa.

All I'm hoping for now is none of our boys get injured. Tampa will only get dirtier from here on out.
I thought Pittsburgh was pretty dirty but Carolina and Tampa are pretty professional. I think so, at least.
