Panarin is almost all the way back.
Less loose on D and creating more chances for. I think a part of the problem was that he generally is able to hold on to the puck and execute even when the pressure is on but his injury impacted this aspect of his game the most.

The second Chytil goal is one of the most electric in Garden history
To have our 4th line control possession long enough to change out for the kid line? Cooper should be showing TB that on repeat. That's embarrassing.

And the Fox keep in? Incredible. Wouldn't have been needed if the guy on TB wasn't literally holding Kakko's stick for 10 straight seconds resulting in him not being able to get to the puck first. But that's fine. Made the play that much greater.

If the Rangers - for whatever reason - don’t keep Chytil, I’d still root for him in a very big way. He has grown up right before our eyes and his jubilation is so much fun to watch. I’m truly happy for him. It has been five years in the making and he has busted out so impressively.
If you’re going to show what you got, crunch time is when to do it. I was down on Chytil but did he open my eyes . Good for him and good for the Rangers. Please pass the salt so when I eat my words they taste better

I'd like to remind most here that vatrano started the first goal
Single handedly stopped a goal going in with his great backchecking and then scored a goal of his own..
He dominated the first half of the game
Yes it was awesome the kid line started rolling after a slow start and yes mika was great all game but i feel vatrano gets very little love here
Our start was the reason we won the game. TB had to open it up to get back into the game
And we dont have the start we had without Vatman

Vatrano's best game in a long time.

Agreed. His play was huge. Got my vote for it. But everyone played so well.
I know its just 1 game and its a long way to go, but winning last night feels so good.

One of my favorite plays last night was Copp coming back hard on a back check to break up a great chance for Tampa, then brings it up the ice into the Tampa zone. When the Rangers do that they are a very hard team to beat.

Mika
Copp
Chytil

Imagine we have that down the middle for the next 5 years!

That Vatrano back check was also up there.

It doesn’t matter who was rusty .. we got the W .

However… expect an onslaught tomorrow night …

Remember we barely escaped the 1st period - at times it looked like men vs boys …
They picked us up by our diapers and threw us around like children… bullied us ,.. hit us .. hits posts … flubbed glorious tap in goals …

We got real sloppy in our own end too … Fox was atrocious at times … KAM softer than poke checking Flab … Trouba rubbed out a number of times - back to the hitter …

We need a film session

What did he say

During the scrum near the end, he was yapping away at Reaves with an official intervening, trying to act tough. Then Maroon felt the urge to take over and protect his defenseman.

My takeaways from reading some of the other boards last night

Isles: A few members there were pretty sober about our run and our kids and actually think we'll... you know... and maybe even do it more than once with this group and up-and-coming core.

Devils: Inferior complex talk

Flyers: Also refreshingly sober and saying we're good

Pens: Little activity other than Crosby blah blah but also blaming Sullivan and the uselessness of the roster not named Crosby during our series with them

Blue Jackets: Focused on our kids and recent drafts and squandering Panarin

Shesterkin is now in tampas head.. Not giving up a goal in that 3rd period was big for our psyche and helps to dent tampas and put frustration in there mind.
Totally. A goal meant absolutely nothing in regard to the win, but "shutting down" and NOT relinquishing at least 1, should make them realize, this ain't gonna be a walk in the doggie park.

The talking head pundits are afraid to admit that the reason the Lightning looked that way is because the Rangers made them look that way.

They're slower than Carolina. They leave more space for the Rangers. They don't have the top end depth Pittsburgh had. The Rangers have more resilience than any team they've faced. Their dirtbag beer league tactics are not going to work against this Rangers team.

It's going to be a long series.

But right now NYR look like they can play with anyone on a good day.

It's just going to hurt. Lots of guys playing through pain.
