It's incredible that we are playing hockey in June and still have at least two more games at the Garden. You almost forget what a privilege this is.
I only wish Colorado wasn't such a juggernaut. I am really gonna hate losing again in the Finals. We might have a fighting chance against them, but Geez are they strong. Darcy Kuemper and Pavel Francouz are not exactly household names so maybe there's a possibility. But playing in Colorado is probably the toughest place for us to play. So against that team in their building, our chances are not good.

It's the complete opposite of how strong I feel we will beat Tampa.

I know most Rangers fans are happy we made it this far and that they get experience. But we are going to the Finals. I gave strong reasons why Tampa won't beat us. And so losing when we are only one of two teams left is really gonna hurt.

And I know, no one really wants to hear about this stuff, getting ahead of myself and all. But we just rolled through three fairly easy wins, and it's not gonna stop until we end up in Colorado.

I guess we can pray the Oilers knock off the Avalanche and then we would have home ice again. That would be like Christmas in June. I can't think of a bigger present for Rangers fans. I can dream can't I?

If Binnington didn't get hurt Colorado potentially chokes in the 2nd round again. Remember the pressure is on them while they trot the Johnsons on the back end...and stick Makar who isn't great defensively on the PK.

Could you imagine if the Oilers find a way? Our odds of winning the Cup would go through the roof. Home ice in the Finals? That would be unbelievable. How great would it be to knock off McDavid and company? With 40-year-old Mike Smith in net. What a gift that would be for us.

A few of my favorite posts from the Lightning board…

Vasi sucks

Killorn is god damn useless

Kuch keeps shooting right at Igors chest.

And about shesterkin...

Lol, he's been good for 1 season and won nothing when it matters, get back when he's done this for even 5 years and maybe he'll have an argument.

Yeah, he's had 1 NHL season where he's looked world class. He has no Cups, no Conn Smythes, and he'll have one Vezina(which Vasy has been robbed.of twice already). There's zero argument to be made as to which goaltender is better at this point. Maybe if Shesterkin keeps this level of play up for a few years and the Rangers win something meaningful, he'll have a case of being better than Vasilevskiy. I could care less what he did before the NHL tbh.

Rangers defense is not better lol

Everyone talks about TB. The Leafs should have beaten TB in six games. The Leafs had them. Vasiievskiy wasn't great in the Leafs series. He had his bad moments. TB has Stamkos and Kucherov. Palat always play well against the Rangers. Cirelli is a good player. With no Point, TB is not an offensive juggernaut. TB is bigger and more physical than Pittsburgh and Carolina. The Gourde line isn't there anymore. Killorn is a good player. What I trying to say is the TB team isn't the same team from the previous two seasons. No Point. No Gourde. No Coleman. No Goodrow. TB gave up two #1 picks to Chicago for Hagel trying to recreate the Gourde line. Hagel hasn't had the same impact as Coleman or Goodrow. Their depth isn't the same.

People talk about the Florida series. The Capitals outplayed Florida in their first round series. The Capitals aren't very good. Wilson tore his ACL in the first game. He was a big loss for them.

The Rangers need to do a better job defending Kucherov. He had too many good looks like night.

TB went with 11F/7 D.

Foote and Rutta barely played. Bogosian has seen his better days. McDonagh tried to be physical in the first period. The Rangers need to finish their checks on him. Sergachev was banged up in the Florida series. He didn't skate much when TB was off.

The Avs goaltending is not very good. Kuemper wasn't very good in the Blues series. He wasn't very good in game one against Edmonton before getting hurt. Francouz isn't much better. I remember watching him play in the bubble when Grubauer got hurt and last season in the playoffs. Oh boy.

Edmonton is going to make that a long series if their goalie can stop the puck. Edmonton can win if Smith plays well.

Stoked that Fil has stepped up like this. For a stretch there in the regular season, particularly before his injury, I was wondering if he'd stick here at all. Regardless of how it plays out from here, the experience the young guys have gained this run is incredibly valuable and only mounting.
If the Rangers - for whatever reason - don’t keep Chytil, I’d still root for him in a very big way. He has grown up right before our eyes and his jubilation is so much fun to watch. I’m truly happy for him. It has been five years in the making and he has busted out so impressively.

The Rangers just need to score three goals. Maybe four goals. Igor isn't giving up more than two goals. The Rangers just need to score 3-4 goals per game.
I think TB could say the exact same thing, despite today. But, yes, agreed.

IF we get to the Cup Final, I'll be away doing mil shit. I better be able to watch the games. I'll do whatever I have to do to watch those games. Game 7 of this series is scheduled the night before the morning I leave. I need some luck and cell service or wifi.
Let’s aim to end this nonsense before then, then ;)

Can we break Tampa's streak of 18 wins after a loss and do this again Friday night? Break that streak and I really think that they may spaz and come apart at the seams. Winning tonight was massive but Friday is so much more important.

I may be in the minority here, but can we cut the shit with the "Igor's better!" chants? Bad juju if you ask me.
Igor's better chant started in sec 214 and spread like wildfire throughout garden....I almost passed out jumping up with first goal

Vasy was obviously rusty and Tampa is gonna come back a lot tighter, but damn you can't not be happy about punching the defending champs in the face to the tune of 6-2

Gonna be a real hard game on friday, gonna have to step it up again. Forwards need to help out more in the defensive zone, things were too loose there too often
Vasy was not rusty...1st period he made some great saves...The goals were almost perfect plays that Vasy had no chance

All this talk about 9 days off over and over again from those shitbags on ESPN, but no talk about the Rangers just coming off ANOTHER intense 7 game series with 1 day off in between and traveling. Yes Tampa traveled too but you know its not the same. ESPN made that out to be an advantage, but we have know better…we know we had seen time and time again that a Rangers team comes out flat after those circumstances. They didn’t. They came out flying. And really no credit given all night, just constant excuses made for Tampa by asshat Ferraro until the final horn. Screw ESPN, keep hating on us.
