It still hurts that we gave up my favorite player for this loser. Lias holds no responsibility for his play, while Stepan looked at his faults and made strides to improve all while being an incredible teammate and leading through his play in all areas of the ice. We hoped Lias would become a better Stepan who was more physically imposing, instead we drafted a fragile baby who hasn't improved a lick or forced anyone to keep him here. Get him away from the Org asap so this kind of behavior doesn't persist.

All said and done, hope the kid turns out to be an NHL'er somewhere.

Didnt work out here, it happens.

Good luck.

Eh, with how he’s handled this situation, he can go f*** himself. I don’t care. Hopefull the organization can turn around the potential reclamation project they get for him

The thing with Lias is it's like he's plateaued two years ago. It's not good that he's struggling so much even in Hartford. Sometimes players lose confidence---sometimes they have expectations for themselves and when things don't go that well for them they start to lose hope and the way things are with the Rangers right now Lias might not even see an opening. At training camp he seemed to be a bit quicker but as the season has progressed he hasn't. He's a big minus with the Rangers--a big minus with the Wolfpack--very often he's not even getting shots. There's a lot about him right now that screams for a new beginning somewhere else. It's quite likely though we'll get the best return if we package him but that might mean waiting for the deadline.

Could anyone please give me an example of another prospect in his D+3 year who asked for a trade and left a team essentially because he didn’t like bouncing between the NHL and the AHL?

Inb4after people blame Quinn and the Rangers for this...

I think this is the part where we drop Brett Howden’s name, right...

Whoever is advising him is a dumb ass. He should've put his nose down and dominated in the AHL if he thinks he should be in the NHL. This hurts his value, hurts perceived value, and doesn't reflect all that well on a "character" guy who wants out because he hasn't performed well on the big stage.

I can just envision the meltdown we are all going to have a few years down the line when Andersson becomes the Swedish Chris Drury with his new team

Nope, people will just make excuses for this organization like they do with the Mcilrath pick. This org. Is cursed for real, with arrogance and ignorance

They should try to target Alex Nylander, Max Jones, Tolvanen. or Jost imo. Add if you have to, but stay in roughly the same age group and look for a player that can improve.

Olli Juolevi gets absolutely killed by the guys on the Canucks boards here who watch Utica Comets games. Think that's closer to Lias's neighborhood than guys like Logan Brown, Pulju, Bracco, Alex Nylander before he got traded who basically proved themselves as "AAAA" players in the baseball jargon at least.

If this situation with Andersson has been brewing, and his AHL game tape was encouraging, I think he'd be out of here by now.

They made the right decision moving stepan when they did.

I’ve been dying to post on here all day but I was busy and just got back from the Christmas market in Philly. Here’s my hot take: I think both sides share blame. I don’t think he was given a fair shot out of camp, and I blame Quinn for that because a young player can’t develop playing 6 mins a night with literal garbage. When the team struggled early and Quinn would mix up the lines he never threw Lias into the mix, he was always on the 4th line. Now, at the same time Lias never really earned anything out there, and it seems he sulked in Hartford too. I’m not going to associate Lias and Kravtsov’s “issues” with Hartford’s coaching. I think they’re both uniquely different situations. Now with that being said, the kid is dead to me. Lias Malhotra/Cantersson is a mental midget in my book. Oh, and the Rangers should cut off the pension of that Euro scout who was retiring and begged the Rangers to take Lias. Another top 10 bust. #InGordieWeBust #SmartestPeopleInTheRoom

Not reading through what I imagine will be a lot of mixed reactions in here.

But I will just say, with Kravtsov's issues and now Lias, I am fearful that something is deeply disturbed with the communication going on in Hartford.

I am extremely worried about Shesty as well.

I saw him in Charlotte on Wednesday. If I didn't know who he was, I wouldn't have thought much about him. Not happy about this because I was looking forward to having a 3rd line center with leadership and drive. I was expecting a Callahan to center the 3rd. My fear after the game was that he didn't seem like an NHL player and that it was going to take a while to happen, if ever. Beleski and Letteri were more noticeable, and I was concerned but optimistic that there is still time. Maybe there is, but it is troubling that his time in the AHL has not been successful. He was seeing a lot of ice and had PP and PK time. Looked way out of place on the PP. They were givingn him plenty of chances to show he shouldn't be down there. I didn't see a player that was clearly more. Kravtsov was always noticeable and had far less ice time. Stark contrast.

kravtsov didn't even unpack his bags before throwing a temper tantrum and running home the first time...seems fine since he came back. the issue is with the players here

The problem is with Lias and Kravtsov, not Hartford. Everyone else is doing fine there.

What's the Kaprizov situation? maybe minnesota will finally give up on him

Until Lias fixes his skating he is an AHL player, I like his compete level and all around skill but he needs to be faster and probably will be some day if he works on it. For him to not be able to see that he isnt ready yet is kind of mind boggling.
