That's great on Dreger. Glad he clarified. Bad look on Shayna.

Yeah, I'm not willing to take a strong stance on any part of this considering the NHLPA has been basically not mentioned at all in this.
Kinda weird.
I’d try to negotiate termination of his contract. I’m certainly not loaning him anywhere and picking up the tab. There isn’t an nhl gm that wants him. That much is certain. I want him out of my organization at this point. It’s one thing requesting a trade. It’s quite another showing up at a public event taking an interview dressed like Justin Bieber and bad mouthing the organization and complaining about all the horrible things done to you but not actually saying what they were other than not gifting you the 2nd line center ice spot after a couple decent preseason games.
I think the lack of NHLPA involvement speaks volumes.
I'm finding it hard to believe that someone who comes from a hockey family has landed in this situation. I honestly don't believe his father and/or brother advised him to do this. Which makes one wonder who he is listening to or, in the alternative, whether he has tuned everyone out and is making these decisions on his own.Let's even assume the Rangers dropped the ball, the people around Lias should be working to help him --- whether it's a mental issue, a physical issue, all of the above, or none of the above.
And as part of that help, I find it hard to believe they're advising him to keep making the situation more confusing and convoluted.
Let's go the opposite way and go with the approach that he didn't tell anyone, no one had any idea, and they are playing catch-up. The people around Lias should still be working to help him, because obviously something is deeply wrong --- whether it's mental, phsyical, all of the above, or none of the above.
And arriving at the conclusion that something is obviously wrong, regardless of the cause, or the timing of when others knew, I can't imagine that the help and advice he is being offered includes taking this approach. Because if it does, then those who are supposed to be helping Andersson might just be part of the problem.
my son suffered some mental anguish when he made it to the final cuts one summer on a AAA travel bantam team.
not seeing his name on that board made for a tough ride home.
hockey, like life, isnt always fair.

See! If only you took this POV when we used to discuss Lisin!!!

Listen everyone has been in a bad spot mentally/emotionally/psychologically at some point in their lives. Lose a job not make a team divorce loss of a loved one etc etc. that is not the same as a legit mental disorder or clinical depression/anxiety. And I’m glad lias clarified that thru his agent. That this is not that.
I suffer from anxiety. It hits me everyday in one way or another. But that doesn’t mean I get a free pass when I want to be an *******.
if he has legit issues let’s hear them otherwise he’s doing himself no favors right now. He should have stayed off of the cameras and out of the media during this time. But he doesn’t seem to be able to do that. The medal throw now looks like a legit red flag. No one asked if he had mental problems then. They just **** on him for being an *******. Like he deserved. This shouldn’t be different.
Oh dear. Enver Lisin. One of the dumbest hockey players to make the NHL I ever saw.
I always wish he and Rico Fata had a baby together somehow.
Update from another newspaper:"I've been disturbed on a personal plane."
What a bizarre statement.
Thank you for actually taking the time to translate when another poster was previously asked to and declined.
This whole thing is bizarre.
Supposedly. Since Lias can't be outspoken about what actually happened, who knows?Who knows what really happened but the rangers seem to be well known for taking care of their players

This whole thing is bizarre. At the end of the day, the kid needs to put up or shut up. Cloaking all of this like he's doing is the exact opposite thing he should be up to. That's probably what he means when he says his agents are telling him to not talk. You can't throw around these veiled accusations.
Update from another newspaper:
Lias Anderssons pappa: ”Han har inte mått bra”
Lias's father: "He hasn't been feeling well."
"The important thing now is Elias is tackling his health and well being."
Lias: "It has been alot of incidents that has affected me on a personal level, that hasn't made me feel well mentally. Purely speaking about hockey it's an idiotic decision, but I have to consider my private life as well."
"I've been disturbed on a personal plane" doesn't feel that weird to say from a Swedish culture.
"I'm not a spoiled brat that complains I cannot play for the New York Rangers. That's not the thing. It's other factors."
Niklas Andersson, father of Lias again:
"I think Lias has been firm in the media with that this doesn't have anything to do with playing in AHL. Yet still people talk about that all the time, people don't get it, they have no idea."
"I'm proud and happy that Lias has made this decision, I support him for 1000% in the same way I think all parents would. He hasn't been feeling well and that's unfortunate."
Supposedly. Since Lias can't be outspoken about what actually happened, who knows?
Either Elias has extremely think skin, which I doubt considering how far he has fought to get good at hockey, considering the extent of his emphasis that certain incidents have deeply affected him on a deep level, something doesn't feel right here. To me it sounds like he feels deeply, systematically abused by someone/ some people within the franchise.I'm positive that quoted statement is "on a personal level", but it's what it is.
With mental issues being out of the game, the kid needs to understand that if he's hurt that badly, tell the team and tell them that you cannot play. If that was done, it's poor on the Rangers. If he didn't, it's on him. If a team forces someone to play while injured, especially after reporting it, I would think the NHLPA would intervene.
At this rate, nobody is going to want him. The only option is to heal up, attempt to repair the relationship and get back at it next season. This one is pretty much over.
No one knows but those involved at this current time.I think that it's pretty clear that he needs to stop vague-booking this. He's creating more questions, unfortunately.
