Terry Yake scored against us in a loss to the Ducks in 1994 and everyone was mad. Team turned out alright.

I remember Rumun Ndur fondly. I think was 8 years old. To be completely frank, as a little kid, it was the coolest thing to have a black guy on the Rangers. Growing up and watching other sports I'd see a lot of different faces, but in hockey, not so much. Then in the late 90's we got Jarome Iginla, Anson Carter, Peter Worrell, Georges Laraque, Sandy McCarthy, and eventually Scott Gomez. It was amazing to see the diversity in the game suddenly blossom.

I'll toss out a name - how about Stan Neckar? I remember him because it was pronounced nothing like it was spelled, at least not in English.

f***ing Stanislav Nets-cash.

I just thought of another random one

Who knows who this is?

Not enough Troy Mallette in this thread.
In 1991, the Rangers were still flying commercial and I sat next to Troy Mallette on a flight from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. He couldn’t have been nicer and indulged me talking hockey the whole flight. He was intrigued that I had been a fan for so long (this was 1991) and that I was at a game in Pittsburgh. Some of you old timers may remember the loss the night before when VBK misplayed a puck off the boards for an overtime goal to give Pittsburgh a huge win.

Also, can't mention minority hockey players without Jason Doig. A buddy and I used to get lit up and go to Caps games, and whenever Doig was out he'd laugh like Beavis and then say Doig a bunch of times. I don't even think he was aware he did it.

Remember Jeff Taffe? Played two games and got traded back to the team at traded with for him

Petr Sykora - made his Garden debut on my first ever game their (was traded while I was on the plane flying over), so I always had a soft spot for him. Probably another guy we should have re-signed, Was on 60 pt pace during his half season with us and then seemed to get all the blame for the team sucking in the playoffs
Michal Sykora
