Bob Richards
Mr. Mojo Risin'
We had two 1st overall picks play on the same team a few years ago.
Rick Nash and Roman Hamrlik.
Rick Nash and Roman Hamrlik.
Terry Yake scored against us in a loss to the Ducks in 1994 and everyone was mad. Team turned out alright.
I remember Rumun Ndur fondly. I think was 8 years old. To be completely frank, as a little kid, it was the coolest thing to have a black guy on the Rangers. Growing up and watching other sports I'd see a lot of different faces, but in hockey, not so much. Then in the late 90's we got Jarome Iginla, Anson Carter, Peter Worrell, Georges Laraque, Sandy McCarthy, and eventually Scott Gomez. It was amazing to see the diversity in the game suddenly blossom.
I'll toss out a name - how about Stan Neckar? I remember him because it was pronounced nothing like it was spelled, at least not in English.
Oh I got one - who remembers Bryce Lampman?
Instead we got Girardi. Ha.I remember that he Liffiton, Baranka and was it Nycholat? were meant to be our future bottom/middle pairing D guys coming out of the Pack
In 1991, the Rangers were still flying commercial and I sat next to Troy Mallette on a flight from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. He couldn’t have been nicer and indulged me talking hockey the whole flight. He was intrigued that I had been a fan for so long (this was 1991) and that I was at a game in Pittsburgh. Some of you old timers may remember the loss the night before when VBK misplayed a puck off the boards for an overtime goal to give Pittsburgh a huge win.Not enough Troy Mallette in this thread.
I can’t believe no one has bit on the most famous spare tire in history.Joe Zanussi
For some odd reason it was really grating when Howie Rose pronounced it****ing Stanislav Nets-cash.
Bob you know like three quarters of this board was not born when Joe Zanussi played. And that might actually be generous of me!I can’t believe no one has bit on the most famous spare tire in history.
Baranka?I just thought of another random one
Who knows who this is?
Not Dane Byers but the other guy who was exactly the same player.I just thought of another random one
Who knows who this is?
He's now playing really well for KHL Slovan Bratislava, where he sometimes plays with Patrik Virta. And yeah I remember him, he was ass.Remember Jeff Taffe? Played two games and got traded back to the team at traded with for him
I know this...I just thought of another random one

Michal SykoraPetr Sykora - made his Garden debut on my first ever game their (was traded while I was on the plane flying over), so I always had a soft spot for him. Probably another guy we should have re-signed, Was on 60 pt pace during his half season with us and then seemed to get all the blame for the team sucking in the playoffs
Kris King threw me my first puckKris King. Played here in NY for about 4 years. He wasn’t very offensive, but he was an excellent defensively.
