Michael St. Croix

Scoring 105 points in his post-draft season in the WHL.
We had an Oil Kings fan regularly comming into our prospect thread telling us how great he was.
I really beleived that we had a future star on our hands.
Then he turned pro, posting 0 points in 13gp in AHL, demoted to ECHL where he spent rest of his ELC doing decent.
Last year he played in canadian college. Might have had a decent euro-career, but getting a college degree is seldom wrong.

In 2008-09, always confused Derek Morris with Corey Potter for some reason.

Milo Horava, Jay Wells, Ales Kotalik, Alex Frolov.

Unrelated but Dan Fritsche was also a guy that I was briefly convinced could be decent.

Was just about to come here and post Dan Fritsche. Adam Hall and Sandis Ozolinsh are some good throwbacks to those weird ass 06-08 seasons.

way back yesteryear:
I think Tim Horton played for us for less than a season his last year. Not bad for a geezer. And props on the coffee and donuts!
We properly love Eddie, Eddie! G.
I remember the game after we sent him to Detroit.
But I also always loved the underrated Villemure.

I remember the great Terry Sawchuk ending it with us.

Regular yesteryear:
Reio Rutalanin [sp is off] Rexy and Mark? McEwen were fast.
Kovalev.

Betw. yesteryear and yesterday:
Falardeau
Bryce Lampman

and, of course, the one that I was most wrong about, Tysen Dowzak!

Jack Egers and Gene Carr. Used to hear their names from my transistor radio went Marv called the games.

Loved Marv and Sal Messina--best Rangers broadcast crew ever (and I used to listen to their radio feeds all the time)-- better IMO than Jim Gordon and Bill Chadwick who got the TV gig. Chadwick and Gordon were two fussy old geezers. Chadwick always had it in for Carr. I think it was because Carr had long hair. Chadwick was almost monotonous from one game to the next with his: 'Gene Carr couldn't hit the net (ocean) if he were standing on the end of the pier'.

Joe Cirella and ex-Isles pat flatley and rich pilon

The only thing I kind of remember about the greatest hockey player of all time being on the Rangers was a hat trick in the playoffs against the Florida Panthers.

That happened right?

Manny Malholtra signed a napkin for me in the streets of Ottawa. Said hi to Darren Langdon in the hotel lobby during that same road trip. Dan Cloutier gave me one of his sticks after a practice at Rye Playland

I understand Mr. Fedoruk lives a quiet life in Jersey now. Please stay away from him, lest you actually get him killed.

I have always been amazed by the sheer number of Canadians and Americans with Slavic names in the NHL.

Fedoruk, Tkachuk etc

It gets pretty tense around here especially when we're playing particularly horrible. So let's play a game, which isn't really a game, but is just a feature on a sports blog I like. It's called Let's Remember Some Guys. You don't have to do anything other than post some guys that you remember. Maybe you want to recall when you saw them randomly, like @NYR Viper just recalled seeing Kris Newbury and @Amazing Kreiderman saw Andrew Yogan playing in Beirut or somewhere. The guys don't need to be special or noteworthy, just guys you remember, or guys who if you say their name, you think other people will be like, "I remember that guy."

Terry Yake

Rumun Ndur

Zarley Zalapski

Peter Sidorkiewicz

Brent Fedyk

Do you guys remember any of those guys?

Terry Yake scored against us in a loss to the Ducks in 1994 and everyone was mad. Team turned out alright.

I remember Rumun Ndur fondly. I think was 8 years old. To be completely frank, as a little kid, it was the coolest thing to have a black guy on the Rangers. Growing up and watching other sports I'd see a lot of different faces, but in hockey, not so much. Then in the late 90's we got Jarome Iginla, Anson Carter, Peter Worrell, Georges Laraque, Sandy McCarthy, and eventually Scott Gomez. It was amazing to see the diversity in the game suddenly blossom.

I'll toss out a name - how about Stan Neckar? I remember him because it was pronounced nothing like it was spelled, at least not in English.
