Who remembers the goalie Matt Zaba?
Remember Tom Laidlaw and Pat Flatley?
Remember Chris McAllister?
Weirdly, I randomly came across an article that interviewed lundmark's wife about being a hockey wife and supporting his career domestically and abroad.@Amazing Kreiderman I was at his only NHL action, the 6-0 drubbing in Montreal in early 2010, one game after the Torts/Brooks "Did you get beat up at the bus stop?" exchange. It was my BDay celebration aka an excuse for like two cars with 10 guys to just go party in Montreal for a weekend. Fun trip despite the game and one of the more memorable road trips centered around a game I've done.
Remember Chris Holt?
@Mandar I saw a guy wearing a Per Djoos jersey at the Winter Classic 2012 in Philly. I have a picture of it on an external lol.
For those bringing up Marc Savard, he didn't really take off until the rules changes in 2005-06 once the league rebooted. It was still a dumb move by Smith to trade him but it wasn't purely a dump him for change. Hlavc was a pretty good player for a few years (don't know why he fell off so bad), the 3rd rounder became Craig Anderson through other trades etc. (not a Rangers pick) and Lundmark.....yeah, he was a high pick and all but wasn't skilled enough to be a skilled player or gritty enough to be a grinder.
I think you thought he played well because you were drunk lol#24 post trade deadline purge 2004. He played pretty well and I remember in some of my drinking nights during the 04-05 lockout talking with friends "I wonder if they bring him back as a 3rd pair/7D, he played pretty good." Yup, we had low expectations then (back when Benoit Dusablon and Garth Murray were cool).
It was those Jofa cansLaidlaw had a nice career with the Rangers. He was part of two teams that went to the Conference Finals. He was Dan Girardi of the 80s.
Flatley had a solid career with the Islanders and was fine in his one season on the Rangers as a veteran depth signing. He went to the ECF with the Rangers as well. Unfortunately Flatley's place in history to the Rangers despite playing for them will always be as the guy who ended Barry Beck's run as a top D. by separating his shoulder. Beck was never the same after. The shoulder problem would plague him on and off for the next 4-5 years, he'd actually retire, and come back with the Kings wearing the ugliest helmet of the 80s.
I think you thought he played well because you were drunk lol

I remember Balej. He was kinda too finesse. McAllister definitely had his momentsNaw I'm not really a drinker when I watch hockey. Even if I'm on the road with friends I'm genuinely more about trying native foods/beers to that region.
He genuinely played good. I know you have to put it in perspective but I vividly remember him,Jamie McLennan, and Benoit Dusablon as being three guys who busted their behinds, and Balej showing potential.
His fro kinda made his noggin too big for those cans hahaDefinitely and maybe it was because of his fro and the fact that he was a giant, but it looked worse than Butch Goring's helmet and almost mummified.

Do tell lolBalej didn't adjust to the new rule changes. It was heavily implied he complained about the Rangers acquiring Ruccin and Niemmenan. I could go into why I know that but it's a very long story and would take me a bit to type out and explain (I had some civilian sources up in Westchester who worked as bartenders back in those days like the Ted Green story I posted on this board etc)
He got traded to Vancouver for the legendary Fedor Federov, and was speared in the kidney and pretty much never came back to North America.
Do tell lol
Nets-cash.Who remembers Stanislav Neckar? How about Brad Smyth lighting up the AHL, but always failing to score in the NHL?
John Ogrodnik
He, along with Kisio and Mullen had great chemistry for a year plus.
