Source: Cash going from #Nationals to #BlueJays in trade will even out difference in salaries between Storen and Revere.

Even better though I am guessing the player to be named later may be an actual prospect.

PTBNL is probably nothing. If it was anything of consequence I'd imagine it would have been announced right now. Nats probably get a choice of a handful of scrubs minor leaguers.

At least I hope.

nats fan here, this is a win win for both teams

just keep storen out of the closer role and he should be great. his stats may look confusing but thats cause his confidence is shot based on how nats handled him. just keep him in one role and he will be good

Big part of this trade is how much you believe that Storen's confidence was totally destroyed by the Papelbon deal.

2014: 7.35 K/9, 1.76 BB/9, 0.32 HR/9, 2.71 FIP, 30 ERA-, 74 FIP-
2015 (pre-Papelbon): 11.27 K/9, 2.11 BB/9, 0.23 HR/9, 1.83 FIP, 42 ERA-, 48 FIP-
2015 (post-Papelbon): 10.26 K/9, 3.78 BB/9, 1.62 HR/9, 4.99 FIP, 192 ERA-, 130 FIP-

The 2014-end of July 2015 Storen is a top 5 reliever in the game.

If Pompey doesn't work out in the leadoff role, I think Tulo will lead off

edit: Forgot about Travis

Tulo may need to leadoff until Travis gets back.

Unless Pompey beats out Saunders

ok....
travis leads off when he comes back
til then I guess pompey?

doubt it. I'd imagine they'd want Pompey in the 9 hole. They'll probably just go Tulo, except for the 1st time around you have Pompey hitting in front of the big 4 so it's the same thing except the better hitters get more at bats.

I doubt they want to put that pressure of leadoff on Pompey.

Plus he will be motivated with Free Agency looming.

Pretty solid baseball trade. The team is coming together nicely. I assume something that hasn't been mentioned is Jays management believes Saunders will be relatively healthy for spring training and were comfortable parting with Revere.

He won't mind being a setup man?

Tulowitzki - SS
Donaldson - 3B
Bautista - RF
Encarnacion - DH
Colabello - 1B
Martin - C
Pillar - CF
Goins - 2B
Saunders/Pompey - LF

I'm assuming that's our opening lineup.

It looks almost like Martin bats lead off by default to me. The guy takes his walks.

what would be perfect is to get a good setup man for dickey. then for sure sanchez is a starter maybe osuna too
