Ferraro was talking about Pesce when Dreger interjects that bit about SJ being on his list as Ferraro starts to talk about Skjei. At least that's how I took it.
I re-listened to it, and you are right.
Here's the exact wording/convo. Ferraro said about acquiring Karlsson:
"It's going to cost them Brady Skjei or Brett Pesce, like one of those guys, because they need money to go back, and I think it would probably be Pesce, because it would be a right handed defenseman that goes back. Skjei gives.."
Then Dreger interjects: "He would have to waive, he doesn't have SJ on his list."
Then Ray says: "Skjei had 18 goals last year, a career high, maybe that would be the defenseman they prefer, but one of those two guys has to go back."
According to Capfriendly, Skjei has a 10 team NTC (ie..10 teams he can't be traded to without waiving).
Also, capfriendly is now updated and says Pesce has a NTC that was in place both last year and this one that states he will provide a list of 15 teams he'd be willing to be traded to.
I personally doubt either of Pesce or Skjei goes to SJ. I suspect they'd be traded for assets used in another trade for Karlsson if a deal were to happen.,
