So if we're truly aiming to get Karlsson, moving Pesce for pieces that pleases SJ is likely the hold-up and if/when that happens, the EK move shouldn't be too far behind.
If not all at once. With Nashville showing interest, their 1st & Fabbro (+?) could be a package that SJ likes. A Sharks poster on the MB was saying that SJ was looking at Fabbro this past season.

Who knows, at this point. :dunno:

I mean its in the CBA, kinda. Good thing LTIR abuse is but has no way of actually finding out
A curious case altogether. I see the rationale, as it (=A to B to A trade with a retetention in the play) is one of the less-usual explicit prohibitions in the book with a clearly defined no-no period of time. The book says a year, so a year it is, despite the season extraordinarily having been less than a year long.

Ferraro was talking about Pesce when Dreger interjects that bit about SJ being on his list as Ferraro starts to talk about Skjei. At least that's how I took it.
I re-listened to it, and you are right.

Here's the exact wording/convo. Ferraro said about acquiring Karlsson:

"It's going to cost them Brady Skjei or Brett Pesce, like one of those guys, because they need money to go back, and I think it would probably be Pesce, because it would be a right handed defenseman that goes back. Skjei gives.."

Then Dreger interjects: "He would have to waive, he doesn't have SJ on his list."

Then Ray says: "Skjei had 18 goals last year, a career high, maybe that would be the defenseman they prefer, but one of those two guys has to go back."

According to Capfriendly, Skjei has a 10 team NTC (ie..10 teams he can't be traded to without waiving). Also, capfriendly is now updated and says Pesce has a NTC that was in place both last year and this one that states he will provide a list of 15 teams he'd be willing to be traded to.

I personally doubt either of Pesce or Skjei goes to SJ. I suspect they'd be traded for assets used in another trade for Karlsson if a deal were to happen.,

Well that and being a completely separate SPC than when we traded him, regardless of the timeframe.

Yes, but. If they let us do that now, next there would be copycats with actual malicious intention to have their expiring player signed with someone else and then bring him back with half of the salary retained. We did trade his rights to PHI with the purpose that they sign him.

Perhaps the end of #PesceWatch is nigh, sounds like a good-bye from Papa Pesce:

The way some of the fans in our fan base get super attached to players kind of annoys me at times but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a family member connect with the fans like he has. At the end of the day it is a business but it does kinda tug at the heart strings a tad when you see something like that.

The other day he said Brett was taking it in stride and handling it with aplomb but he was the nervous one.

Sometimes what looks good on paper doesn't translate to better. Lived it this year with my Heels.

The standing O he gets on his first game back is going to be legendary. He's been here through thick and thin. Been here for a long time. And now the arena is pretty damn full every night. Hope I can find tickets to the game

1. So the odds are on Nashville I'm assuming.
2. Fabbro plus a 1st seems steep but it's what I've been seeing out there.
3. Flip that package plus a bit more for EK?

If rumors are indeed flying they need to wrap this up soon.

The fact everything seems to be delayed makes me think this is somehow tied to the TDA trade
