Adding a star scorer would have been nice, but there’s room for internal growth between Jarvis and Svechnikov. In the absence of that, hopefully someone pops up on the trade market later (i.e. Pettersson).

Bunting who had 23 goals, and 7 PPG last season is also a very solid addition. His PPG would have him tied with Aho, and Noesen last year and only second to Necas who had 9.

I was just coming in to say the same thing. As of right now the Canes had a very good day. The additions they made were good, and just as importantly, none of the contracts they signed were bad.

There’s still the trade market and UFA day to cap this off. We should be pretty happy right now.

Yep: deal is still there in principle, and it should happen. He did hedge just a teensy bit, but in the way that GMs always do.

ALSO: Given the turmoil re our AHL situation, can we still expect to see some back-end 2-way deals, so that we have those 5-10 extra guys you need--however briefly--when injuries strike?
