Marner is playing for team Canada, the USA or SwedA don’t have a Sid or McDavid.
I mean, USA has a Quinn Hughes who is better than Makar this season and Quinn wasn’t even named anything.

Looks like Sweden have an extra assistant captain so I guess they felt Nylander was really deserving. If Canada felt Marner was deserving of an A they would have given him one.

Neither Matthews for the C or Nylander for the A would have been my choice, but the countries feel differently I guess.

I'm sure Marner, Mackinnon and Marchand can console each other over their snub.

Mac and Marchand would have been next in line, imo.

It’s not about better than or worse than.

Anyone see the spitting chiclets tweet saying that the Bruins wanted Toronto in the first round? Pretty embarrassing look for this franchise to add to its extensive list.

More interestingly enough it confirms what a lot of posters were theorizing that they didn’t want 1st in the division to avoid Tampa. The usual posters of course said that’s ridiculous but they ended up being wrong as usual.

Because you don’t agree with how players are deployed that doesn’t mean they are getting special treatment. Is Nylander given special treatment by being on both PP units?
Is Knies getting special treatment because he gets PK time?

I think when their deployment is dictated by their preferences and independent of period to period, game to game, week to week efficacy and immune to adjustments when everyone else is in the blender… yeah I do think they get preferential treatment.

The existence of preferential treatment for star players isn’t a special or controversial point. They just get above and beyond what Nylander does.

The Bruins have Toronto’s number so it’s not surprising. We match up better with Tampa than Boston for example.

Don't see it. Either I'm not looking close enough or your seeing what you want.
All good.:thumbu:

Well, if we then put the spotlight on Auston vs Mitch, I’m sure you’d have a bone to pick with the unfair treatment between the two of them.

I don't think any of them are unfairly treated.

I’m going to be in Montreal next weekend but think we’ll just catch the game at a Pub. Not paying those crazy prices.
Should be a great game though, really looking forward to it.

yeah I wasn't too psyched about it two months ago, but now I can't wait for them to drop the puck

Have a great time Montréal it's such a great town, they can really do things right there. My wife and I try to get to the Jazz fest every year for the headliner but we go a few days early so much to see and do!

Thanks mostly be with the in laws.
Both in their 90s now so we try and visit more often, pretty much every long weekend. Highlight is usually bringing home cheap beer from Costco and/or a stop at Smoke Meat Pete’s

Captaincy, assistant, double digit second contracts, never demoted from PP1, players who play well usually promoted up to the other unit, stuck with Tavares unless Matthews is out.

I think it’s pretty clear nylander has been treated as a second class star at best through most of his time as a Leaf.

Look no further than the scotiabamk arena promotional materials, like the banners. It’s always 34, 16, 91, and 44 and Willy nowhere to be found.

I am in the same boat.

Mack, McDavid together against the US is going to be exciting. I am now super pumped for it.

Even moreso for the Olympics next year

I predict pain and suffering. This team has major issues despite being high in the standings.

They have to be one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. Very rarely do they get games where all their top guys are contributing
A bit of pain and some success. They are still a ways away from being a legit threat to win the cup.

Doesn’t he have his own cake shop beside the arena sponsored by Oreo ?

Next time they need to do 4 Nations and The rest of the world.

Finland Canada USA Sweden Quebec and Team World
