yeah, this is ridiculous. when I created this thread I SPECIFICALLY put in my original post “INSIGHT on the Jackets” etc.. not insight on Gaudreau saying no to NJD.
the first 4-5 pages was great to read but the last 3-4 pages has been nothing but a disaster.

It's not that Laine is underrated. I actually really like him as a player. But when your fans are saying he's a better player than Bratt & Nico of course our fans are going to come to this thread to bash that opinion. Laine is a great player but if I'm a GM I'll take myself a Nico or Bratt all day over him.

This is exactly why people wanted Torts gone, because he was a dinosaur and wouldn't play the young guys, and play the way hockey is being played today. After 90 games of new coach, there is plenty of complaints that some of the young guys need to be sent down, and Trotz name is popping up as someone to get as a new coach.

Devils fans laughing at Gaudreau signing for Columbus when it’s evident the Devils are much better set up for success. And someone who thinks Laine is better than Bratt and Hischier lol.

it's a down season for toronto. so the devils have taken over as the future dynasty and the right to own every thread on the mainboard.
if you don't like it, go back to your team board - but quietly and don't burn down any villages on the way out.

I anticipated this to be another season of growth and on the outside looking in again. I didnt expect it to be this bad however.
Really when you look at the roster they basically switched Bjorkstrand+Domi for Gaudreau+Johnson and added Gudbranson on the backend who hasnt been amazing by any stretch but dont think hes been as bad as some believe.
I didnt think it was crazy to think they atleast reach the level they were at last year but bad goaltending, massive confusion in whatever system they are trying to run and a powerless powerplay has made them look defeated already. I think they can "salvage" this season to some degree and probably make some deals along the way. Hopefully for the teams sake the trip to Finland has given them time to get their heads on straight and relax a bit because there is enough talent on the roster that they shouldnt be fighting for the best odds in the Bedard lottery.

I think they have some really good pieces in the organization but the Gaudreau deal made it seem like they were closer than they are, there was even some speculating they'd slide into a playoff spot which always seemed like a huge stretch. Gudbranson is maybe the league's all time swindler at this point, really not sure how teams haven't learned he's worth maybe a million at this point in his suck ass career. A top 3 pick and one of those top centers is the best thing that could happen to them imo
The Jackets being this bad is great for the NHL. Some team has to be in the basement should be a team nobody cares about. Jk
On a serious note though, Alberta is finally united on something, watching Gaudreau’s career go down the drain is entertaining for both Edmonton and Calgary fans alike.

with today’s loss, the jackets now officially have the lowest points percentage in the entire league. we gave up 6 goals again…
the jackets have given up 3 goals or less in a game ONE time this season.
this is comical.
Elvis now has a GAA of 4.82 and a save percentage of .863 in 8 appearances this season. sickening.

yeah, and rangers also started a goalie who has given up 11 goals on 72 shows, against the jackets that night.
