Leon Draisaitl 3rd 110+ point season in 4 years...

He is absolutely insane. I think this may be the year they come out of the west. I just have a feeling. Skinner is the only thing I see potentially being sketchy. Sure the defense could be better but there offense is just disgusting. They are on fire at the right time too. If its not my blue and orange, I hope its the Oil!
Your team needs to get to work, because we're 30 years over due for our SC tiebreaker.

Does that mean Gretz, Mario, sid > McD? Because somethings gotta give.
Oilers have been a somewhat respectable team when McDrai aren't on the ice three times in their careers:
16-17, 2022 after Jay Woodcroft took over and this season. Other seasons, it has been a lottery team when they are on the bench.

They made the 2nd round in 2017; they made the conference finals in 2022. This year, the team is better than it was in 17 or 22. I think they're winning the Cup.

It's insane how bad teams they've had to carry and it's great to finally see them on an elite team.

Shocker that the guy who has the most in the last 5 years is the best passer as well. Must be McDavid doing it by osmosis.
It's just a select number of fans from certain fan bases toiled in their jealousy.

Usually they spend a few hours or days moving a goalpost then come yapping like they figured out an uncalculatable formula.

If the trees are shaking... it means they are about to pop out...

Draisaitl hat trick for his 50th of the season. He is only 12th player in NHL history to have three seasons with 50 goals and 50 assists.
What's crazy to me is, if it wasn't for the two shortened seasons due to COVID, Draisaitl would have had a very legitimate shot at FIVE 50/50 seasons in a row and would have been a virtual lock for five 100pt seasons in a row at this point.

Durr...but...but...he's a product of McDavid and he can't carry his own line! Durrr. lol. Funny how some people still think that all these years later. But that's what happens when you don't follow anyone outside of your own team. They don't know squat. Dude is an absolute beast.

Something tells me the Oilers might have 2 generational players at this point.

Leon literally looked like Mario and Adam Oates had a baby tonight. Absolutely mind blowing hockey IQ.

The shorthanded goal for 50 with a Hatrick, in the last 3 minutes of the game is Lemieuxesque.
Better than prime Malkin

Nevermind points, id like to know how has more takeaways/60.
I know you're memeing Leafs fans with the AM defense god thing, but believe it or not the answer is Draisaitl (74 tka for 2.7/60) over Matthews (61 tka for 2.65/60). Draisaitl has been top 10 in the NHL every season except 2018-19 where he still finished top 20. Drai when he's giving full effort defensively absolutely has the skillset to do so, he just tends to prefer to cheat for offense and play a looser style.

Where are all the Leaf fans now?
Realizing that they wouldn't have been eliminated in the first round 6 years on the trot and that their list of ways to diminish Drai have all but evaporated.

It's amusing that Matthews has put up one year comparable to Drai and they have the audacity to talk about "consistency", or "proving it over a longer period" with other players but not their own top 10 player.

Best passer in the league?
I think he may be at least for forwards.
I’d have him as the third best center behind McDavid and McKinnon.
His consistency is remarkable as he never has had a down year once he became a dominant player.

This guy is a beast. Him and McDavid are the only active players with 3x110+ point seasons when there there is only one other player (ovie) who has more than one.

In fact Drai and McDavid combined (6) have the same amount of of 110+ point seasons as the rest of the active NHL players combined (6)

Drai is also 3rd all time in playoffs PPG. How can anyone argue in good faith that he isn't the second best player in the NHL year after year? I think him being the best passer and a top 3 goal scorer in the league makes up for defensive lapses....
Higher scoring era.

MacKinnon and Kucherov are both better though it is close, and that’s just for the forwards.

He will probably never get the respect he deserves because he plays with the best player on the planet. A bit like Jagr with Lemieux and Malkin with Crosby.
But people who understand hockey know he’s a superstar in his own right and a top 3 Center.

Kucherov isn’t a better passer, and hes definitely not better at 1 timers or faceoffs or grinding… Dunno. People shame Drai for getting to play with McDavid half the time but Kuch has been on the best 5 man unit most years. MacKinnon is interesting. Amazing rush player (like McDavid)

Draisaitl has achieved higher highs than Malkin or Crosby and is coming for all but Jagr’s best season. Already has the same # of 50/50 seasons as Jagr and would have passed if not for COVID

Drai is #1 goalscorer over the last 5 years and universally recognized as the top playmaker. Same career faceoff% as Crosby. 3rd best playoff ppg all-time.

If it wasn’t for McDavid nobody would question him being the #1 player in the world
