Probably just Friday. I'm not taking off work for a rookie game (Monday). I'll try for Sunday but city national arena has limited capacity.

Looks like Carlsson is at that NHL rookie showcase thing they do every year.

So I guess that means they will use a photograph of that for his young guns Rookie Card, then? Count me underwhelmed.
Way to pat my own shoulders but I gave this scenario a pretty big probability in their pre-draft. I think it was obvious a mile away.
While I was super excited to get Fantilli, I acknowledge there is a good-to-great chance that Carlsson ends up with a better career. Not that Columbus should feel sad tho.

Carlsson would go 1st overall in a bunch of previous drafts. Who cares about the other players the one we got is fantastic and projects to be at least a good 1C.
I 100% expect the Ducks to be in that situation next year. Fantilli is better right now and is going to be in a way better situation to start his career. I'm expecting the next 2 years to be pretty stressful when it comes to Carlsson.

Nah.. Hes gonna tear it up playing with Terry, Carlsson has Size.. Nobody can teach that..

I see absolutely zero reason to believe he’s better than Carlsson right now. His situation is another matter.
Yeah I’m not seeing how Fantilli is any more ready. He looked out of place at the WC’s. Granted that was his first pro tournament, and he did look better as it went on. Like said above, his situation could help, but he’s going to have to get the trust of Babcock to even be put in a good situation in the first place. If he keeps over skating plays and leaving his teammates behind, he’ll find himself down the lineup like he’s found himself in the WJC and WC’s.

I actually prefer he stays on NA ice and continue to develop under the Ducks wings (no pun intended, lol) he’ll be able to get Top 6C time in SD if needed.
I personally hope Leo just sticks with the Ducks and finds his groove and has a rookie season similar to McTavish.
We shall see.
At this point we have to hope we have a genuinely good development coach in McIlvane. We well might, but it's interesting that they prefer having Leo over so strongly.

Yup. I don't like the process of NHL, AHL, and then SHL, which is what we did to Lundestrom.
I'm glad that Carlsson has backed off the stance of NHL or SHL. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, "he should say his final goodbyes to his Orebro teammates b/c he isn't returning." heh
I'm just big on consistency. If he starts off on NA ice, then he should stay on NA ice. Plus, this season will have an influx of top talents to San Diego at forward and defense. If the org sets him at the AHL, then I'd like to see him lead the group. We finished last in the league last year in the AHL by 20 points. We could use a top-6C in San Diego.

I think it’s fine…. I think we have a better coaching staff down there this year… and there will be talent around him, that he’ll be playing with at the next level.

glad he's probably going to end up in SD and not SHL. let him get used to the smaller ice
I love the idea of having him in the AHL over the SHL tbh.
I don't think the development is that much different and it means the Gulls are going to be insanely fun to watch with all of these guys joining.
