I think we are going off tangent a little here in the discussion, it’s been fun but have to get back on track here.

just to throw a little gasoline on the "which league should he play in?" fire...

Also makes you question how impressive Carlssons numbers were given the decline in the league. On the flip side it also suggests he's did what he did with less support. :/

I wouldn't think of it that way - these are being compared to two of the other top hockey leagues in the world, not the junior leagues.

Yeah, which is fair but one of the big selling points was his production compared to past draft eligible players coming out of the SHL. Like the Sedins, Backstrom, Pettersson. Production is kind of less impressive if you consider the quality of the league has declined since those guys put up their draft year numbers. Not saying its not a feat or he isn't good. Just context.

For sure. Worth noting that (according to that graph) the SHL was stronger for Carlsson's draft year than Pettersson's.

I like the fact that Verbeek was transparent with how he plans to go about things with Carlsson. Gives us an idea of how the organization views him once his placement is announced.

If he was a Defender i would choose SHL. In AHL most players play to get to NHL. In SHL they play to win. That is a big difference. They say SHL has declined. Maby the players are overall less offensive minded. But the staff around them probably just get better and better. AHL is more dump and chase . SHL more like chess.

I would put AHL and SHL as equal but with different aproches to developing players. SHL aint a developing league , you aint got a long leach as a rookie. They want to win. And they realy dont care what NHL wants. they probably listen and so on but never compromise putting the best team on ice. So whats best for the player is individual.

I just want to know where you see this, any chance you can trace it out for us skeptics?

The red is the head (those holes gave me an impression it's the eyes, nose and mouth). The yellow is the body and the pink is the organ in question. In my defense on mobile it is much smaller (that's what she said) and I did spent some time before seeing it.

I just assumed it was a nebula cloud in space. All this talk about Carlsson developing on the moon...
